General:  Life Source International Church is a multicultural, Spirit-filled ministry on a mission of developing disciples who are committed to God, connected to others, and changing our world. The church is a multi-campus ministry with campuses in Europe, Africa and South America, along with a church in the Philippines. While we are a part of the Church of God denomination, we are a modern/casual church. You can get a better feel for our church by watching our services through our website. We are looking for a proven leader for our students, who is skilled and excited about leading the ministries for our junior high and senior high students at our main campus. Primary responsibilities will include: leadership development (recruiting, training and caring for volunteers); direct work with students; communicating with both students and parents; assisting Life Source on projects as a member of the staff team.


The Community & Opportunity:  This is a full-time position with a salary based on education and experience.  The Baltimore/White Marsh area is growing and this is a great opportunity for a pastor to be a significant part in seeing the community transformed through the student ministry. The church is located in a suburb of Baltimore, but we are actively reaching out and working with area community centers and the police department to help bring hope to our City. We are a church of prayer and action and are ready to see impact take place in the youth of our community. 


General Responsibilities:


The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), high-level networking and interpersonal strengths, an analytical and systems mindset, a strong ability to execute, the ability to build successful teams, and a passion for students.


Contact Ministry: 

-Build relationships with students by visiting school lunches, games, and other environments outside of the church context.

-Be a visible leader within the church/campus and the community.

  • Attend scheduled staff meetings
  • Be available for pastoral care needs
  • Support regular services and special events 

Sunday/Youth Night Programming: 

  • Lead Sunday & Youth Night gatherings. This includes promotion, programming, oversight of teams, and all other responsibilities included in executing a top-notch program.
  • Assist adult and student leaders in developing a vital weekly small group experience for middle and high school students that connects well with overall weekly messages. 

Parental Partnership/Development:

-Give vision for developing faith at home.

-Bridge a clear path from birth (partnering with our Children’s Pastor) to 12th grade so there is a smooth transitions between developmental stages of life in their faith journey.

  • Partner with parents with the goal of producing teenagers who are world-changers through Christ, leaders for Christ, and fully devoted followers of Christ.

Students’ Spiritual Development:

-Develop, maintain, and coordinate a Student Ministry program that includes Bible study, discipleship training, mission education, outreach, and fellowship.

-Develop and lead a weekly program (other than Sunday morning) designed to address current issues and needs of today's students in a relevant worship format.

-Work with youth leaders to maintain meaningful discipleship groups.

- Identify opportunities to integrate students into every aspect of the church on a constant basis.


Leadership Development:

-Meet with adult leaders and student influencers for training, encouragement, accountability, planning, and information dissemination.

-Develop standardized training process for volunteers so they can be mentored, encouraged and empowered to teach students.  

-Cast vision and communicate regularly with leaders.

Event Planning: Plan, promote, and program events for students during each semester. Each event should ideally target a specific aspect of mission (committed to God, connected to others, and changing our world).


Communication: Communicate pertinent information regarding the Middle and High School ministry to the students, parents, adult leaders, and the church at large. Tools for this include: webpage, weekend bulletin, weekend slides, pre- service announcements, mailings and phone calls, etc.



-Perform other administrative duties as needed in fulfilling the goals stated above.

-Provide oversight to the management of this ministry, including budgets, reporting, safety, etc. Much of this detail work should be accomplished through volunteers.

-Develop and implement all standard operating systems, cultural expectations, and leadership structures within Youth on the campus.

-Be a leader of leaders – a self-led, developer of people

-Solid biblical/theological convictions which are aligned with Life Source so that the message of God’s Word is not compromised

-Aware of current culture and engage students by being real and authentic

-Strong interpersonal skills—ability to communicate persuasively and compassionately, both orally and in writing 

-Work well with and build winning teams

-Organizational skills that match heart of ministry

-Flexible and able to make decisions for the growth of the ministry
