About the Position:
The Lead Pastor would operate within a Plural Pastor-led Congregational model as the first among equals on the Pastoral Leadership Team. He would also work alongside a variety of teams that include congregational representation.
A distinctive priority of the Lead Pastor is to provide well-prepared, expositional biblical preaching and teaching and to lead the people of God to prepare themselves for the work of ministry as fully devoted followers of Christ. The pastor should
demonstrate strengths in vision casting and leading a multi-staff team. He should have a heart for sharing the gospel within our community and our world. He will shepherd our congregation and support community outreach efforts, helping all believers to discover,
strengthen, and apply their spiritual gifts towards the ministry of the Church. He will participate in and encourage the development and training of mature believers to come alongside new believers in discipleship.
He must believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God, and that Jesus is the only way by which man can be saved. He must be a supporter of the Southern Baptist Convention, Baptist State Convention of NC, and agree
with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. His life must exhibit the Biblical qualities and characteristics of pastors as found in I Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-8, etc. He will preferably have a Master of Divinity degree and at least five years of experience as
