South Palm is a grace-oriented church that uses innovative methods to present the timeless message of Jesus Christ. In 1993, South Palm Community Church began in a living room. Today, SPCC is a vibrant congregation where grace is the theme and people with no recent church experience love to attend. 

With the mission of helping people far from God become fully dependent followers of Jesus Christ, South Palm continues to reach more and more people with the good news of Jesus Christ. As a portable church, South Palm has a great deal of flexibility and freedom to resource ministry and quickly respond to the needs of the community.

About the Position:

In congruence with the ‘Orange Strategy,’ the purpose of the NextGen Pastor is to reach and equip students, kids, and families, through Christ centered relationships with small group leaders and engaging environments. The successful candidate will not just come in to maintain, but will creatively cast vision, develop strategies, inspire volunteers, and build a sustainable system to make South Palm NextGen ministries both exciting and excellent. 

While effectively working with the ministry leadership team, this position will resource parents to be up to date on what students and children are learning, ways to disciple them at home, and given opportunities to serve others. Most importantly, this role will offer a welcoming environment to unchurched families while sustaining cultural relevance and engagement that points towards Jesus.

Success in this role will be determined by the influence upon the next generation with the message of God’s story through a specifically designed framework that combines family with the faith community.


What We Are Searching For/Qualifications:

The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the NextGen Pastor: 


An undergraduate degree in a related field. 


The ideal candidate for the NextGen Pastor role will possess a passion for the lost. While teaching theologically sound, biblically centered messages, they will maintain a high sense of integrity in all their work, as they drive the ministry mission within the context of the overarching vision of the church. This prospect will be a leader who will successfully overcome current ministry barriers and leadership concerns with a strong will to building community with the children and students of the ministry.

  • 2-5 years of experience as a pastor to children or youth.
  • A history of launching ministries.
  • Capacity to run 100+ children and students.
  • Ability to build relational collateral with parents and community.
  • Technology savvy and comfortable with multimedia usage.
  • Highly self-motivated and agile.
  • Proven history of building, equipping, and developing teams.
