About the Organization:

Opening in 1957, the fellowship of New Life Church has remained intimate in size for much of its tenure. The current pastor of almost fourteen years planted two churches, served as a missionary and denominational leader prior to returning to his home church, ministering locally and globally the entirety of his adulthood, and has led the church to grow 54% since accepting leadership. In the last decade, the church has remodeled its facility to better serve the next generation of its community by adding Activity and Educational centers.


The beliefs, values, and theological core of New Life Church maintain correlation to the Assemblies of God, and have become a participant within the Association of Related Churches (ARC) and the GROW Network. As a church filled with the Spirit, New Life practices biblical moderation in the use of spiritual gifts, being mindful of the presence of unbelievers (1st Corinthians 14:23)

About the Position:

The NextGen Pastor at New Life Church will provide leadership and oversight to both Children's and Student Ministries teams. The vision of this position is for the individual assuming the role to provide ‘hands on’ ministry to the Sunday morning Children's Ministries experience, help pastor the Junior and Senior High Students, provide guidance to each ministry, and to be a resource for all Children's and Student Ministries as well as Dream Teams that serve them. 


What We Are Searching For/Qualifications:

The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the NextGen Pastor:


Preferably a bachelor’s degree in a related field.


The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in a ministry setting. The candidate will have had experience working as an effective leader of a large ministry team, with the responsibility of providing vision and discipleship for ministry leaders in a mid-large size church. The successful NextGen Pastor candidate will be a ‘magnet’ for students and their parents, and recognize the value of NextGen ministries. They will remove silos, and create collaboration and synergy between the ministries of oversight. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to provide the leadership, vision, and direction necessary to make a lasting impact in the lives of both students and children.

  • Skilled in identifying, attracting and recruiting new leaders. 
  • Experience in empowering people and leading teams of staff and volunteers.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Successful leadership experience in vision setting.
  • Able to administer and organize budgets, events and ministry communications.
  • Possess an obvious passion for ministry to the next generation

About the Location:

Kokomo is located fifty miles north of Indianapolis, as is known as the ‘City of Firsts,’ thanks in large part to its world-renowned automotive heritage and history of technological inventions. Kokomo's historic downtown offers a wide variety of interesting attractions, which include family friendly parks, the Wildcat Creek Walk of Excellence walking and biking trail, intercity bikeways, farmers' market, and summertime open-air concerts.

Kokomo has been a town married to the automobile industry. It rises and falls economically with the rise and fall of the auto industry. In the 60's, 70's & 80's, the three big employers were: Grissom Air Force Base, General Motors, and Chrysler. Today, Grissom continues as an Air Reserve base, General Motors maintains a smaller opration, and Chrysler is the life-blood of Kokomo. Every transmission in any Chrysler in the world is built in Kokomo or the nearby City of Tipton.
