Job Description:

The Community Life Director of Student Impact will report directly to the Impact Director, providing oversight to the Community Life pastoral team and volunteers. We’re looking for someone gifted in leadership and strategic planning, with an insatiable desire to improve things. This position oversees our entire House Group ministry, consisting of 150+ volunteers and a thousand high school students.


Job Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and support to the Community Life team of Youth Pastors, House Group Leaders, Small Group Leaders, Food Coordinators and Home Hosts
  • Create and implement an annual leadership development plan for Community Life staff and volunteers that includes shepherding, training, supplemental resources, pastoral support and clear next steps
  • Work with the Community Life Pastors to recruit, onboard, shepherd, train and retain an army of small group leaders
  • Create and implement a path of assimilation and discipleship for high school students, moving them from being guests, to friends, to part of the Impact family
  • Work with the Operations team to create opportunities for our students to serve within Willow Creek and in the Chicagoland area
  • Work with the weekend Production and Teaching teams to create powerful weekend gatherings
  • Assist with the creating and implementing of a strategic plan for reaching the 20,000+ high school students within 10 miles of Willow Creek


Job Requirements

  • Proven experience working with high school students
  • Experience overseeing full-time pastoral staff
  • Proven experience developing a leadership development plan for volunteers
  • Experience developing a successful discipleship plan for students
  • Strong Discipleship and Leadership Development skills
  • Strategic agility and high innovation skills
  • College degree
  • Spiritual gifts of leadership, teaching, knowledge, discernment, shepherding and/or evangelism
  • Must be able to lift at up to 25 lbs. and be on your feet for long stretches of time
