POSITION TITLEChildren's Pastor**
LOCATION: Metro Area East of Houston, TX
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with Experience
DENOMINATION: NonDenominational

MinisterSearch ( is partnering with a young, growing church that averages 900 weekly, with 1500 on Easter this year. All about outreach, they work hard to be visible in the community, and they have a vision to expand to additional campuses. In the process of building a new Worship Center, they expect the approximately 150 babies and children currently in the Children’s Ministry to rapidly increase as the program reaches out to more families in the area.

They are a Spirit-filled environment that is strongly influenced through worship. They believe in the full use of the gifts of the Spirit, as well as the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Their style is influenced by Church of the Highlands in Birmingham and Gateway Church in Dallas. Their mission is to provide a place for presence-driven worship and practical application of the Word of God that will help lead to purposeful living. They exist to help people move along the path from where they are to where God wants them to be.

They want children coming to the knowledge of who Jesus is – accepting the Word of God – learning and understanding the journey. The Children’s Pastor will have latitude in developing and growing the ministry. Creativity and out-of-the box thinking are important in developing a kid-friendly area where children will have fun, be engaged, learn about the love of Christ, and want to return week after week.

The Senior Pastor is involved with the staff and believes that relationship is key. He will be available to meet with the Children’s Pastor frequently to ensure a smooth on boarding—and the staff enjoy getting together socially, also. The desire is to be the staff’s “church,” not just a job.

The church is in a warm, friendly, well-kept city in the most desirable area of what is called the Golden Triangle which includes about 350,000-400,000 people. Their schools are the best in the area. They’re 5A schools and, being in Texas, they also love their sports. Football season is a big deal and the local rivalry game draws upwards of 15,000 people every year.

In addition to local sports, there is lots of fishing and hunting, and the beach on the Gulf of Mexico is only an hour away, with Galveston Island only 1½ hours. The Golden Triangle area has everything you need, but if you want to go to the "big city" you can get to Houston in an hour; and Downtown with its professional sports, acclaimed arts, and numerous museums, many entertainment and restaurant venues, as well as the world-renown Medical Center, is only an hour and a half, putting you close to virtually anything you could want. So, while this city provides a small-town feel with very friendly people, you also have the benefit of all the amenities of a big city. And, because of its friendly, caring environment and good economy, people tend to put down roots in this area to work, live, and raise their families.
