Position Description: Music Director


Primary Function

The Music Director is primarily responsible for overseeing and leading the worship experience at one Parker Hill Campus. The ideal candidate must be musically qualified, creative, experienced in current worship, capable of providing musical direction to a band, capable of being the front person, leading others in worship vocally, and a skilled public communicator.


Primary Duties:

1. Planning & Rehearsal

  • Learn music

  • Lead mid-week band rehearsals

  • Meet with other Parker Hill Music Directors to coordinate song approach, sequence &


  • Weekly Evaluation & Planning Meetings with Creative Team
2. Music Director/Worship Leader for Services
  • Lead pre-service band and tech rehearsal and worship services

  • Coordinate cues with media & sound techs and/or producer/technical director

3. Musician and Band Development

  • Recruitment & training
  • Scheduling teams
  • Develop volunteer vocal leaders and volunteer music directors
  • Lead devotional time with band each week


  1. Experienced in leading worship vocally

  2. Experienced in music direction

  3. Possess effective public communication skills

  4. Proficient in playing piano and/or guitar and/or bass

  5. Skilled in working with stems, tracks, & music arranging
  6. Ability to recruit and train musicians and Music & Production members

  7. Basic computer skills – MS Office, Planning Center Online
