Job Description:

Primary Function:

The Campus Pastor is the lead campus staff position in Parker Hill's multi-site model. He oversees the ministries that are happening on the campus.


  • Team Champion – able to work through the campus staff to develop crew members and multiple layers of crew leadership

  • Promoter of Parker Hill's Vision. Maintains the vision and Parker Hill DNA on his campus

  • Problem Solver - ability to walk campus staff and crew members through problem solving for growth on campus

  • Pastor - has an innate passion to help people find the way back to God and take next steps in their walk with Jesus

  • Staff Champion - leads the campus staff with their spiritual, leadership and personal development

  • Multi-Tasker – shows high capacity to juggle multiple projects at one time

  • People Magnet – people want to be around him

Specific Responsibilities:


  • Helps each campus staff member develop as a leader in personal and ministry areas

  • Host & Facilitate events designed to help people take their next step (examples: NEXT, Baptism, Child Dedication Class)

  • Point person for filling staff openings on campus

  • Looks to build relationships with community organizations and leaders for local impact opportunities. Develops Parker Hill's identity in the community so the campus is seen as a resource for meeting peoples physical, spiritual needs.

  • Champions Global Outreach initiatives with our partnerships overseas on their campus by taking part on a Go-Journey trip every 1-5 years as schedule allows.

  • Initiates the follow-up process and has personal involvement in the assimilation process for first time guests.


Team Development:

  • Meets weekly with campus staff. Seeks ways to help his team members grow in their leadership capacity. Leads the campus team in developing, implementing and measuring progress of the campus key objectives and initiatives to further the mission of helping people find the way back to God.

  • Holds staff to roles and expectations as defined by central staff

  • Performs semi-annual performance review for campus staff


  • Performs marriage ceremonies, baptisms and funerals when needed

  • Provide pastoral triage counseling to individuals upon request

  • Provides spiritual leadership to all who attend a Parker Hill campus

  • Ensures pastoral care is provided on the campus for all attenders.

Personal Development

  • Maintains a fresh, developing relationship with God.

  • Seeks to continue professional development, this may include podcasts, book study, blog posts, conferences and looks to share insight with the other campus pastors and staff.

  • Strives to meet the biblical qualifications of a pastor as found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1

  • Teachable and is open to feedback from other Parker Hill Church Staff

Other Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with other campus pastors for growth and learning while at Parker Hill Church

  • Leads a small group two out of three semesters. Develops an apprentice to hand-off the small group within 12-18 months

  • Displays a servant's heart to the rest of the staff when there are special occasions or events at Parker Hill requiring “all hands on deck”

  • Performs other responsibilities when called upon by senior leadership at Parker Hill Church

  • Seeks to improve all systems at the campus (volunteerism, equipment, facilities, staff and Crew development)


  • Self-Motivator - does not need any external assistance leading people

  • Organized - has awareness of the “big blocks” in his schedule and knows how to accomplish these tasks while meeting the needs of the campus and campus team

  • Delegator - has the ability to work through a team to accomplish the vision Parker Hill Church

  • Able to work through job conflict for continual growth with campus staff and volunteers

  • Good communicator - able to take someone else’s script and deliver it to the campus for services and other special events

  • Ability to lead multiple projects at once

  • Understands basic word processing software

  • Quality Manager - Ability to identify problems, find solutions, and improve systems

Reports to: Executive Pastor of Campus Leadership



Full-Time, minimum of 40 hours/week with the expectation of a 45-hour weekly average over the course of one month. (With the understanding there will be seasons of up to 60 hours/week to accommodate specific events and needs at Parker Hill)
