Foster City CPCKids Early Childhood Coordinator – Job Description



To partner and assist the CPCKids staff in building an exciting, innovative, and safe ministry for infants thru preschool kids and their families. This will include, but is not limited to, being an active part of the CPCKids Foster City team, developing adult and student leaders, and implementing both weekly ministry and special events in alignment with the overall church mission and vision. This position will require 40 hours per week, which includes Sundays.



  • Be part of the CPCKids team by committing to the mission, vision, and ministry strategy of CPCKids.

  • Regularly recruit, train, and coach volunteers to provide leadership and support for Sunday morning ministry.

  • Schedule volunteer leaders for Sunday mornings.

  • Implement a small group experience for preschoolers.

  • Connect weekly with volunteer leaders and families.

  • Collaborate with South Campus to adapt and prepare preschool curriculum.

  • Create, organize, supply, and maintain all early childhood rooms and environments.

  • Organize, maintain, and stock preschool rooms.

  • Plan and execute special events for preschoolers and their families (4X a year).

  • Plan and lead specific parts of CPCKids’ special events such as Summer XP.

  • Keep abreast of developments and ideas in the area of Children’s Ministry through study, reading, and dialogue with others in the field.

  • Keep accurate attendance records.

  • Maintain current and accurate files on all volunteer leaders.

  • Participate in regular staff meetings.

  • Meet regularly with FC Children’s Director.

  • Create an engaging, age-appropriate worship experience through music on Sunday mornings.

  • Contribute to Family Worship days as needed.

  • Other tasks that the FC Children’s Director deems necessary.
