Job Title: Worship and Young Adults Ministry Pastor

Employment Status: Exempt (Salary, FT)

Reports to: Lead Pastor

POSITION SUMMARY

This person will oversee two areas of ministry at Lighthouse which are:

1. Worship Ministry: This person leads the eff ort in building and facilitating a creative and vibrant worship experience across departments (Children, Youth, Adults). This includes but is not limited to the Sunday worship experience (music, audio, visual, lighting, livestream) and worship team development.

2. Young Adult Ministry (Vine): This person leads and guides young adults (typically ages 20-30) in their faith journey, fostering spiritual growth, community, and leadership development. Responsibilities include mentoring, teaching, organizing events, and coordinating small groups. They also play a role in connecting young adults to the church community. This person must exhibit Christ-like character and see their work as essential to discipling our community, especially through music, scripture, and prayer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Worship Ministry

• Leading worship at Sunday services 2-3 times per month

• Preparing, planning, directing, shepherding and leading worship teams involved in weekly Sunday services, including scheduling musicians through Planning Center Services

• Providing leadership, vision, and passion for LCC in the area of music worship ministries that are in line with the overall vision, purpose, and mission of Lighthouse

• Recruiting, developing and mentoring individuals and teams in their knowledge of their instruments, vocals, sound, and technical capabilities

• Strengthening individuals and teams by helping them grow in their spiritual formation

• Overseeing worship at additional LCC gatherings throughout the year, including Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry

• Developing and administering an annual budget for the worship ministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church

Young Adults Ministry (‘Vine’)

• Provide leadership, vision, and passion for young adult discipleship

• Help young adults discover their personality & gifting and utilize them in various forms of service to the Kingdom

• Help recruit and train leaders to serve on the Core Team and other volunteers to assist in young adults ministry

• Work with the Core Team to help plan and coordinate various special events, activities, and weekly gatherings (e.g. Wednesday evening gatherings, fellowship events, mission trips, retreats, etc.)

General

• Develop and administer an annual budget for the overseeing of ministries in accordance with the financial policies of the church

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must agree to support and uphold LCC’s mission statement, guiding principles, and statement of faith

• Has made a commitment to be a member of the body of Christ at Lighthouse Christian Church

• A mature relationship with Jesus Christ that is clearly exhibited in the applicant’s life

• A pastoral heart and love for people

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Organizational and team building skills

• Proficiency in leading worship with a strong vocal ability. Capable of leading with a guitar and/or keyboard is strongly preferred. Confidence in speaking and praying is desired

• Gifted and experienced in musicianship. Musical knowledge and training are desired

• Able to utilize a mixture of traditional and contemporary songs and hymns, staying current on trends in worship music

• Able to develop and integrate various worship team members, coming from varying musical backgrounds

• Able to develop a team of gifted musicians that strives for musical excellence

• Knowledge of audio equipment and mixing sound

• Seminary degree or other theological training is desired
