We are seeking a passionate, spiritually mature, and musically gifted Worship Leader who has a genuine heart for leading people into meaningful worship and a desire to be part of a growing church family.
Position Overview
The Worship Leader will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading worship during Sunday services and other special church events.
We are looking for someone who understands that worship is more than music—it is an opportunity to glorify God, prepare hearts to receive His Word, and encourage the congregation to grow in their relationship with Christ.
The ideal candidate will have strong musical abilities, leadership skills, and a servant's heart. This individual should be comfortable leading both contemporary worship music and traditional hymns, creating a worship experience that is engaging, Christ-centered, and welcoming to all generations.
Key Responsibilities
Worship Leadership
Plan and lead worship for Sunday morning services and other scheduled church gatherings.
Select biblically sound worship songs that complement the message and mission of the church.
Incorporate a thoughtful blend of contemporary Christian worship music and traditional hymns.
Encourage congregational participation and create an atmosphere of authentic worship.
Work closely with the Pastor to coordinate worship services and special events.
Music Ministry Development
Recruit, encourage, and develop musicians, vocalists, and worship team volunteers.
Organize and lead regular worship team rehearsals.
Foster teamwork, spiritual growth, and unity among worship team members.
Help develop and strengthen the overall music ministry of the church.
Identify opportunities to involve additional church members in worship ministry.
Service Planning and Coordination
Coordinate music and worship elements for Sunday services, holiday celebrations, and special church events.
Work with audio/visual volunteers to ensure services run smoothly.
Prepare worship music and communicate schedules with team members in advance.
Maintain a spirit of flexibility and cooperation with church leadership.
Qualifications
Spiritual Qualifications
A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
A strong commitment to biblical truth and Christian values.
Agreement with the beliefs, mission, and ministry direction of Retta Baptist Church.
A servant-leader attitude with a genuine desire to minister to others.
A willingness to actively participate in the life and ministry of the church.
Musical and Leadership Qualifications
Strong vocal and musical abilities.
Ability to lead worship while playing an instrument, preferably guitar or keyboard.
Experience leading congregational worship is preferred.
Familiarity with both contemporary worship music and traditional hymns.
Ability to organize, communicate with, and lead a team of volunteers.
Basic understanding of worship-related audio/visual technology is helpful.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Schedule and Compensation
This is a part-time position requiring availability for Sunday morning worship services, scheduled rehearsals, and occasional special services or church events.
Compensation will be discussed based on experience, qualifications, and the responsibilities of the position.
