Brazos Pointe Fellowship (BPF) is a “church for the unchurched.” It's a place where people who probably won’t attend a traditional church can explore a relationship with God. Brazos Pointe is a church that finds its roots in a purpose driven ministry with a core focus of reaching the unchurched, not only in its community, but in a global capacity.

Since its inception in 2001, when Brazos Pointe was commissioned by First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson to reach the unchurched of Southern Brazoria County, it has been on mission of "Guiding people to take their next step with God." What began with merely 80 adults and teens eager to try a new way of doing church has progressively grown into a thriving church of 1,500 who gather each Sunday for the weekend experience.

Brazos Pointe seeks a Next Gen Pastor who will be responsible for age group ministries from birth through college. A leader of leaders, the Next Gen Pastor will supervise a Children’s Ministry staff of four that reaches, teaches, and ministers to children birth through 6th grade. The CM staff includes full time Preschool and Elementary Directors, a part time Preteen Director, a part time Childcare Coordinator, and two hundred volunteers. The Next Gen Pastor will also supervise the church’s Student Ministry led by the Student Minister, a full time Student Ministry Associate, and scores of volunteers who minister to students 7th through college, through a small group strategy that includes key large group events throughout the year.

It is an exciting time at Brazos Pointe. Planning is underway to add more building space to accommodate the growing Children’s Ministry in 2016. Employing the Orange Strategy, the effective leader will steward both Children’s and Student Ministry while maintaining authentic relationships with the parents. This leader will strategically strengthen and equip families to raise their children with Christ-like love. The Next Gen Pastor will be a member of the church’s Leadership Team and will be given opportunities to serve as a Teaching Pastor on some weekends. Although formal education is not a predetermining factor for this position, it is likely they will hold a relevant degree from an accredited college or university and have relevant experience leading a Children’s or Student Ministry.

The successful candidate will have the heart of a servant and be called to ministry. He will possess an imagination, a personal drive, a community focus, and a passion for the vision and mission of the ministry that translates into the generational impact Brazos Pointe Fellowship desires to make in its purpose. He will have a proven track record of working in a setting committed to reaching the un-reached with a high degree of innovation, recruitment, and retention of new members. He will have experience and skills in public speaking. Proven capability in organization, creative thinking and problem solving is strongly preferred.

Brazoria County is heralded in history as the “Cradle of Texas” with an estimated population of 250,000 people and growing. The church is positioned in the southern part of the county in Lake Jackson, a suburban, family friendly coastal community located just 50 miles south of Houston and 15 minutes from the beach. With an abundance of natural resources and outdoor recreation opportunities, the area is home to an extensive petrochemical industry. As of 2010, the city’s median household income was $56,626 and prices in housing units averaged $124,790. Predominantly Caucasian, Southern Brazoria County collectively represents more than one-fourth of ethnically diverse populations. Aesthetically rich, with miles of sandy beaches that contribute to a naturally calming way of life that is unmatched anywhere else in Texas, Southern Brazoria County offers the ideal environment for guests and residents alike.
