Worship and Tech Director

The Worship & Tech Director provides spiritual, creative, and technical leadership for the worship and production ministries of Castle Oaks Covenant Church, by creating meaningful worship experiences that help people encounter Jesus. This role leads Sunday worship gatherings, develops and equips worship and tech volunteers, and oversees the planning, systems, and technology that support in-person and livestreamed services. We are looking for a humble, servant-hearted leader who is passionate about helping people connect with God through worship, equipping others to serve, and using both creativity and technology to create meaningful, engaging worship experiences.

Responsibilities

Worship

• Plan and lead Sunday worship gatherings in collaboration with the Lead Pastor.

• Cultivate worship gatherings that are Christ-centered, engaging, and aligned with the church’s mission and values.

• Lead worship vocally and instrumentally.

• Recruit, equip, schedule, and multiply worship team volunteers.

• Coordinate weekly rehearsals and Sunday service details.

• Identify and develop emerging worship leaders, musicians, and vocalists.

• Provide pastoral care and encouragement for worship and tech volunteers.

• Foster a culture of spiritual maturity, musical and production excellence, and healthy teamwork within the worship and production ministry.

Tech Production

• Oversee live audio, visual, lighting, presentation, and livestream production for Sunday worship and other church gatherings.

• Recruit, train, and schedule tech volunteers.

• Maintain production equipment, technology systems, and ministry workflows.

• Manage worship planning and presentation systems and software.

• Ensure compliance with CCLI and all media licensing requirements.

• Steward ministry resources, equipment, and the production budget with wisdom and accountability.

• Assist with planning and execution of special services, ministry events, and seasonal celebrations.

Staff & Leadership

• Participate in staff meetings, ministry planning, and church-wide initiatives.

• Collaborate closely with pastors and ministry leaders to support the mission of the church.

• When possible, provide spiritual encouragement, mentorship, and leadership to volunteers.

• Support and champion the mission, vision, and values of Castle Oaks Covenant Church.

Qualifications

Required

• A growing relationship with Jesus Christ, a life that reflects Christian character, and alignment with the mission, values, and beliefs of Castle Oaks Covenant Church.

• Experience leading worship in a local church setting.

• Proficiency as a vocalist and instrumentalist, with guitar or piano preferred.

• Experience recruiting, leading, and developing volunteers.

• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to take initiative, manage multiple priorities, and work collaboratively.

• Working knowledge of, or willingness to learn, church production systems, livestreaming, and worship technology.

Preferred

• Formal or informal training in worship ministry, music, media production, theology, or a related field.

• Familiarity with Planning Center, ProPresenter, Lightkey, Multitracks Playback, Resi livestreaming, and digital audio consoles.

• Previous church staff experience.

Schedule & Scope

• Approximately 20 hours per week, including Sunday worship leadership and production for one service, with the potential for a second service in the future.

• Weekly participation in band rehearsals, worship planning, volunteer coordination, and the Tuesday staff meeting (90 minutes). One week each month, the Sunday staff meeting (90 minutes following worship) replaces the Tuesday meeting.

• Flexibility for occasional daytime, evening, or weekend ministry events and production needs, including weddings, funerals, and memorial services.

• Hours are based on an average of 20 hours per week, with some seasonal variation based on ministry needs, special services, holidays, and church-wide events. Hours may be heavier during certain seasons and lighter during others.

Compensation

$27,000 – $37,500 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated proficiency in worship leadership and technical production. This position is structured around an average of 20 hours per week, with the potential for increased hours and compensation as the church grows and ministry needs expand.
