Edge Teen Center will be opening its doors in February 2009 and is a located near Lakota East High School, Liberty Township, Ohio (a suburb of Cincinnati) with a student population of 2600 students. It is housed in a 4,000 square foot facility in Liberty Township, OH. It is an independent non-profit organization that is a collaboration between a church and the local community. It’s place for high school students to hang out after school and get a bite to eat, as well as, a place to get some tutoring for a class or participate in a life skills development opportunity. Edge also has a partnership with several volunteer-based organizations where teens can give back to their community and get credit for school. Friday and Saturday nights are hang out times for teens where there will be gaming tournaments, live local teen bands, movies nights etc… on a regular basis. The mission of Edge is to provide high school students with a diverse, youth-driven teen center dedicated to creating life-on-life mentoring relationships with caring adults through community service opportunities, social activities, tutoring, counseling and life skills courses. Job Description: Interact, get to know and care for teens who visit the center daily. Lead and operate daily activities of the center. Recruit and manage program coordinators, staff and volunteers to work in center Create and plan weekend social activities Interface with the school to provide community service programs Manage fiscal operations within guidelines of the center Interface with media, community and parents as an advocate of the center and the teens being served
