Job Description:
West County Community Church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Church in that we give and support the Cooperative Program. We are a church made up people that have come from all kinds of denominations and backgrounds that are learning to submit our lives to the Word of God, surrender to the presence of the Holy Spirit, and be a church that reaches our family and friends with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We do not major on being a certain denomination. We major on being defined by God's Word, being a follower of Jesus, and having a heart for people.
We have a vision to develop an A+ program for our Children's ministry. There are many things we are praying our new Children's minister will have in their own vision and passion for the ministry God has called them to. Listed below is a Job Description for this staff position.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Sunday Children’s Bible Study and Worship
a. Recruit and Direct leaders for Preschool and K through 5th grade (We do have a Pre-School Director. It would be your job to give them direction and assistance as head of Children's ministry.)
b. Annually determine curriculum and prepare lessons each week
c. Meet quarterly with leaders to train and encourage
d. Communicate regularly with parents regarding their children’s spiritual needs and growth
e. Welcome and educate new families on WCCC children’s ministry programs
f. Recruit and Direct children’s worship team each week

2. Awana Ministry
a. Work with volunteer Awana Commander to direct and coordinate weekly Awana Club meetings
b. Plan entire Awana year and prepare a Parent & Clubber Awana Clubs Manual.
c. Order Awana supplies on an ongoing basis
d. Organize yearly events such as the Awana Grand Prix, Bible Quiz, Awana Games, Survival Camp, and the
Commencement programs

3. Vacation Bible Camp
a. Determine Program and direct summer Vacation Bible Camp (VBS)
b. Recruit all volunteers to plan and execute VBS
c. Publicize VBS in our fellowship and the community

4. Older Children's Summer Camp
a. Develop programs, plan, coordinate, and publicize summer camp
b. Recruit leaders and campers

5. Children’s Ministry Special Events
a. Plan, coordinate, and publicize
b. Recruit leaders and participants for each event

6. Upward Program
a. Work with volunteer Upward Coordinator to Plan, Coordinate, and Publicize
b. Help recruit coaches and parents for program.

7. General Responsibilities
a. Assist pastoral staff with general ministry activities at WCCC as needed
b. Coordinate communication and activities with Living Water Academy (School is ministry of WCCC) activities and staff as
