CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP LEADER
Function: Leadership in Contemporary Worship service including music preparation and media presentation.
Direct Supervisor: Sr. Pastor and Executive Pastor_______________________________
A superior musician and worship leader preferred. This person should be able to read and write music and play an instrument, with a background in having some knowledge and appreciation of traditional and contemporary Christian music. May need to be capable of coordinating musical needs for special concerts and other church related events as needed.
Lead the congregation in the singing of praise and worship songs each week in the contemporary services.
Actively recruit, supervise and encourage musicians and vocalists, when the need arises, for the contemporary services, and to coordinate auditions for volunteer instrumentalists and singers.
Arrange and conduct regular band rehearsals; including preparing all music materials as well as leading devotionals for practices to encourage spiritual
Instruct musicians, singers, and work with sound engineers and volunteers of
weekly duties for contemporary services.
Properly plan and prepare this music and the Praise Team well and sufficiently in advance of performances in order to provide optimum performance standards, which includes researching music and creating music tabs.
Prepare the Praise Team for special services and concerts as needed or directed by the Pastoral staff, which includes helping plan, lead, and be in attendance at Christmas Eve services, Easter services, and any other special events as the Pastoral Staff deems necessary.
Maintain a professional and positive working relationship with the Pastors, other staff members, the Praise Team, and the congregation as a whole.
Work with the contemporary worship coordinator in preparing the annual budget
for the contemporary worship services, Praise Team, and researching and
purchasing of all music needed for weekly operations.
