The Next Gen Pastor will have the awesome responsibility of teaching, guiding, and directing children, from birth through high school, about the most important thing in their lives--the love of Jesus!

Beaumont, Texas, is the county seat of Jefferson County and, with more than 100,000 residents, is big enough to have all the amenities you want, but also small enough to retain a “community feel.” It is the home to Lamar University, with more than 15,000 students--so that definitely helps to give the city a youthful feel. Where Louisiana Cajun meets Texas cowboy--you'll feel right at home in Beaumont. It’s home to big cookin', big events and big fun. From bird watching and botanical gardens to swamps and gators, you'll find plenty of things to do inside and outdoors.

A fun-loving city, just minutes from the coast and the beautiful Louisiana “Gone with the Wind” homes to tour, Beaumont has plenty of fun things to do! Hold a baby alligator or kayak the Neches River. Learn about the history of the Lone Star State at a huge collection of world-class museums in Beaumont. The person who will be right for the Next Gen Pastor position will be an energetic, self-starter, who has a vision and knows how to share that vision with the leaders and get them excited and eager to carry it out! This person should have a real love for children and a burning desire to do whatever it takes to ensure that they know the love of Christ--from the cradle through high school. A proven track record of success in working with leaders and volunteers and growing a ministry is necessary. A background in Student Ministry is desired.

JOB DESCRIPTION / DUTIES:

• Responsible for consistent oversight of and curriculum for Birth - High School children
• Goal is to teach all kids about the Bible--starting with the youngest all the way through high school
• Use Orange Philosophy and implement that consistently into the curriculum so that when they finish high school they will be well grounded
• Create irresistible environments in set design, production, etc.
• Establish the values that show the children are learning what we want them to learn
• Include the family; they are an important resource and source of support to the program
• Coach, lead, and mentor the Next Gen leaders in all aspects of leadership, including how to have exciting and engaging ministries from the stage
• Implement, manage, and oversee an organized, smooth-running, fun, and exciting program
• Assist Directors in vision casting and decision-making for each of their ministries
• Create a culture of “what can we do to make things better”
• Attend and participate in staff meetings

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be confident, but humble--be coachable/willing to learn
• Love working with kids and thrive on busy, eventful days
• Organize and self-starter
• Must be relational, easily approachable, and personable; able to relate to all ages of children as well as their parents
• Experienced and comfortable with some charismatic, spirit-filled settings
• A track record of developing and engaging ministry environments.
• A track-record of recruiting and keeping volunteers--encouraging, mentoring, and making the best use of their gifts
• Ability to recruit and coach leaders
• Ability to see the “big picture” and manage from that perspective
• An entrepreneurial personality and spirit
• A visionary leader--a ministry expert who can and will lead
• Must be capable of participating in physical activities with children (running, jumping, floor play etc.)
• Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred
• A minimum of 2+ years’ experience at a church of at least 300 in attendance
• Experience in ministry in a program with demonstrable success over a period of time
• Knowledge of Mac-based products
• Prefer predominant experience in student ministry
