• Minimum (3) years verifiable experience in youth ministry leadership
• BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience
• High level of comfort with media arts, social networking, and web technology
• Working for a lead pastor in a church of over 300 (avg. attendance) or comparable student ministry over 50 (example Young Life, Youth for Christ, Campus Crusade)

Ministry Description:
The Director of Student Ministry at Pendleton Christian Church will be responsible for overall ministry planning, coordination, direction and growth of the middle school, high school, and college aged young adults. This position will work closely with the Senior Pastor, Worship Arts Director, and volunteer youth team, leading the development and coordination of youth leaders and youth band.

Pendleton Christian Church has always placed a significant emphasis on our children and youth ministry. We currently offer multiple youth programs throughout the week which can be found on the church website. High school youth is currently on Sunday evenings while middle school programs are during one of the 2 morning worship times and include special monthly gatherings outside of Sunday morning. Adventure camp has become a staple 4 day summer camp that has drawn in many youth and families from outside the church. This important outreach event focuses on 4-8th grade with both high school and adult volunteers.

God has built an exciting and engaging Student Ministry through sincere relationships and action that reflects that of Christ. The current ministry is supported by numerous volunteers and strives to lead youth closer to God and teach them how to take their relationship with God into their everyday lives. This has been shown through youth led community events, various activities within the local school system, and mission trips to multiple countries around the world.

Spiritual Accountability

Ministry Specific Duties
• Coordination of youth programs, youth leaders, and development of new leaders and volunteers to fulfill ministry goals
• Build, oversee, and nurture ministry programs which fulfill ministry goals
• Identify, train, equip, and delegate responsibility to youth leaders

• Develop relationships with youth while encouraging spiritual growth and habits of discipleship in a safe, secure environment
• Fosters relationship with youth in the community which includes presence in school, after school activities, sporting events and community events
• Educate and communicate with parents on both spiritual and cultural issues youth are facing

• Assist Senior Pastor and the Worship Minister with vision, brainstorming, producing, and implementing creative ideas for use in services and programs
• Work with Senior Pastor, Worship Minister, and Children’s Youth Minister to create a cohesive and coherent ministry philosophy from children through young adults

• Facilitate set-up and tear down as necessary for any use of the facility
• Maintain the various youth assigned areas in an orderly manner, and purchase all supplies and items necessary for the team’s operation
• Ensure curriculum and supplies are properly developed and distributed in a timely manner
• Keep curriculum and other ministry resources organized and up to date
• Demonstrate accountability of Pendleton Christian Church resources and ability to responsibly manage budget

• Research and cultivate outreach partnerships within the local community
• Mobilize youth and leaders to be active in opportunities and grow strategy to be effective, long-term outreach
• Research and cultivate global outreach partnerships and champion short term mission trips for youth and adults

• Demonstrate spiritual accountability attributes
• Give and receive input and encouragement with staff and ministry leaders

Evaluation Criteria
• Position will report to the Senior Pastor, with oversight by the assigned Elder
over the Youth Ministries
• Strive to attain assigned Ministry Success Factors (MSF’s) which have been identified as those tasks that will positively impact youth and meet ministry/vision goals
• Participate in regular performance reviews
• Make and keep commitments
• Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Pastor or Elders
