The Ark Church in Conroe, Texas (just north of Houston) is looking to expand their Media Department. We're looking for a highly skilled Art Director who has a passion for creativity and ministry. This individual will be managing and working with a growing and highly experienced creative team, acting as the principle creative lead. The AD will be responsible for directing all phases of creative work from concept development through production, for inspiring and motivating their team, and accountable for developing and directing creative work of the highest caliber. The AD will also be responsible for managing, maintaining and moving the current brand and sub-brands of The Ark Church forward. This role reports directly to the Media Pastor.

The Ark Church began in 1996 with Pastor Alan & Joy Clayton and 2 other couples coming out of Lakewood Church under founding pastor, John Osteen (Joel's father). We are a contemporary evangelical church with a charismatic background currently averaging 5,000-6,000 in weekly attendance.
Your Skills & Experience
5+ years experience in a professional graphic design or creative management role.
Strong people management & coaching skills to provide clear creative direction and to motivate and inspire creative teams.
Significant interactive brand-building experience including: concept development, website design, identity design, and environmental & online marketing campaign development.
Expert knowledge of all steps required in the creative development process.
Experience in strategic planning and execution.
You're loyal to the creative process and consistently execute at the top of your game.
You eat, breathe and sleep branding.
Realize the importance of a fun and most times humorous creative environment, and fight to protect it.
Thrive in a fast-paced, constantly-changing environment.
Thinks bigger and broader than paper.
You love collaborating and leading other creatives, especially over a french press at Starbucks.
Your font library is massive, however you secretly only use 7 of them, most of which you have paid for.
You can navigate the Adobe Suite with your eyes closed, and know how to use them together in harmony.
Be a member of The Ark Church - upholding the church’s values and heart
Be a member of the Media Team - having ownership and giving input on all projects
Manage and maintain consistency of the church brand across all media formats using a prescribed style guide
Establish and enforce exceptional design and production standards across all projects and mediums
Collaborate with ministry leaders and creative team members to brainstorm, develop ideas and create a wide variety of branded promotional materials for campaigns, ministry programs and special events
Manage creative staff and freelancers including graphic designer, digital designer, videographer, photographer, writer, web developer
Provide guidance and direction to team members, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
Communicate with ministry clients regarding approvals, edits and change requests
Review and approve all designs, videos, and photos
Attend photo and videos shoots to ensure that the products needed are obtained
Manage and approve production projects
Organize and maintain electronic files and naming configurations
Manage relationships with third-party vendors
Office Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm
(Some flexible or extended hours will be required during Christmas, Easter and other special events on campus.)
