Positional Overview and Environment:
First Christian is an actively growing, highly contemporary, non-denominational church seeking a pastor of Worship and Creative Arts. The church is located in North West Tennessee about one hour north of Memphis and draws from a surrounding community of approximately 40,000. First Christian has a vision to bridge denominational divides, to provide hope to our community, and to encourage and equip Christ followers. We believe in “doing whatever it takes” to know and show God’s love. We are anticipating a move of God that will bring a spiritual awakening to Dyersburg and to the state of Tennessee as a whole. The ideal candidate will have a desperate love for God and for his people, be highly relational as a team player, have a proven track record of success and dynamic ministry and be an excellent leader and team pastor.

Our new Pastor of Worship and Creative Arts will:
• Work closely with the lead pastor and other creative teams to develop weekend programing
• Serve as part of the pastoral team to provide leadership, counseling, “on call” ministry, and overall ministry development
• Train, equip and develop a large volunteer contingent as well as lead and shepherd future departmental staff.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and serve as a member of the executive team
• Work with volunteers to develop the visual and audio environment for experiential atmospheres
• Maintain regular office/ministry hours (generally 40-50)
• Develop the musical and vocal talent of volunteers and enlarge the scope of worship ministry
• Further develop web, print and publication, video, editing and general creative art initiatives
• Assist staff with connection ministry to new families in the church
• Work closely with the children and student ministry pastors to develop their worship programing experiences
• Develop, submit and maintain a yearly worship and creative arts budget
• Lead weekly worship practices both instrumentally and vocally
• Perform other duties/needs as requested by the lead pastor or church elders

Our new Pastor of Worship/Creative Arts will meet the following qualifications:
• Meet the Scriptural requirements for church leadership found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
• Have a proven track record of mentoring and developing multiple worship teams and developing vocal and musical talent
• Have a strong work ethic that produces results and exceeds expectation
• Effectively communicate a clear vision for the worship ministry as well as the vision of the church and its lead pastor
• Be outgoing and highly relational in personality, self-motivated and have a strong work ethic
• Have a true servants heart and lead from extreme humility
• Be in agreement with our statement of beliefs
• Be highly trained vocally and instrumentally (preferably with multiple instruments)
• Have significant experience leading large services, and developing programing in cutting edge services
• Have experience developing a large number of vocal worship leaders to take a primary role in worship leading
• Have experience in the development of web, video production, graphics, lighting, stage design and live feed production
• Extensive experience with sound boards and proficient in the use of software such as Pro Tools, Pro Presenter, etc.
• Be able to plan dynamic service elements 3-6 months in advance with the lead pastor and other creative team members
• Be able to teach in weekend services, small groups, leadership training or at outreach events
• Be able to train, equip and develop children and students vocally and instrumentally
• Be open to change and the shifting of responsibilities as growth and ministry develop
• Have a minimum of 15 years of worship leading experience and a minimum of 10 years of pastoral experience
• Have a minimum bachelor’s degree (preferably within ministry)
