Family Life Pastor
CrossWinds Community Church in Stillwater, Minnesota is looking for a full-time Family Life Pastor with strong organizational and people skills, who is passionate about reaching lost people for Jesus Christ, as well as growing children, youth and adults in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Ministry Description of Family Life Pastor
• Formulate and cast a vision for a vibrant family ministry
• In cooperation with volunteer leaders, develop and implement a Biblically-based spiritual growth plan
for children, youth and adults
• Assist volunteer leaders with curriculum choices for children, youth and adult education
• Give primary leadership to the Children's Education Team, the Student Ministry Leadership Team and
the Adult Growth Team in the following areas:
-Help enlist ministry leaders who catch the vision for children’s, youth and adult spiritual growth
-Develop practices and management procedures unique to each ministry area
-Meet regularly with leadership from children, student, and adult growth to encourage, evaluate and plan ministry
-Assist volunteer leaders in setting an annual budget for children, youth and adult spiritual growth ministries
• Create a midweek family ministry
-Assist volunteer leaders to implement an innovative weekly children and parent ministry that
offers the opportunity for community, spiritual growth and fun all while keeping the family together
-Utilize volunteer service from the student ministry (ROCK) as well as upper elementary kids and
adults to help with the midweek family ministry

Family Life Pastor Will Assist Lead Pastor in the following ways:
• Assist in pastoral duties as mutually agreed upon with the Lead Pastor; be flexible with the ability to
lead where needed for effective team ministry
• Preaching duties in Lead Pastor’s absence or other special times and event
• Some Sunday morning responsibilities in worship and education
• May assist with or if licensed, officiate weddings and premarital counseling
• Assist with funerals as needed

Desired Qualifications
• Must demonstrate an authentic love for Christ and the local church
• Demonstrate a genuine call of God upon his/her life
• Personify the shepherd/rancher heart of Christ as a “pastor” to our families
• Possess the ability to translate the love of Christ and the mission of the church to children, youth and
their families with visionary, strategic, and creative vision and methods
• The ability to work efficiently; exercise good time management; self-starter; administrative
• Possess the personable ability to communicate and establish effective working relationships with key
volunteer leaders and staff; ability to have fun with ministry and people
• Be able to multitask and demonstrate excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
• Be knowledgeable of doctrine and theology in the Baptist or Evangelical tradition
• Possess a Master’s of Divinity or Master’s of Theology or a Christian University education
with a Bible emphasis, or a youth or children's ministry emphasis; or equivalent experience
• Worship experience desirable but not necessary
• Comfortable with technology: office, website, social media, computers

CrossWinds Community Church is affiliated with Converge Worldwide (formally Baptist General Conference). The Church was planted 14 years ago by the current Lead Pastor, Tim Caspers. Meeting first in an elementary school and now recently (March 2012) in a new $1.5 million dollar church facility. CrossWinds is a vibrant and growing church with approximately 250 regular attendees and an average weekly attendance of 180.

In addition to the Lead Pastor, CrossWinds employs a part-time Director of Student Ministry, part-time Office Administrator, and a part-time Church Administrator. The annual church budget is $250,000. The church organization is “congregational” with a single church leadership team called “Overseers.” There are five “Ministry Coordinators” who give volunteer leadership to Worship, Outreach, Community, Growth, and Administration.
