Our church's vision statement is, "Loving God. Loving People. Sharing Life." Our church has a heart for missions, and desires the Children and Family Minister to have the same heart and engage the children of the church in mission. Following is a list of the duties of the minister of Children and Famlies from the job description.
Commit to building meaningful relationships with children and their parents
Create opportunities for children to learn about God in such a way that they can understand and retain what they have been taught.
Teach children what it means and looks like to live a lifestyle of worship to God.
Partner with parents in the spiritual formation of children.
Oversee and provide leadership to kindergarten through 5th grade Sunday School classes and help in the curriculum selections for these classes.
Meet with, assist, and encourage Sunday School directors and teachers on a regular basis.
Lead an coordinate Wednesday and Sunday Night children's program.
Direct Upward Sports program. i.e., Football, Basketball, Soccer, and Cheerleading.
Purchase all the necessary supplies and food for Wednesday and Sunday night.
Recruit responsible volunteers to assist in children's activities that fits their gifts and abilities.
Train and equip volunteers on how to teach God's word and to disciple kids for Christ.
Makes sure that the church has a current, updated background check on everyone who ministers to children.
Plan and implement activities to help reach out to the children and their families in the community (ex. Fall festival and VBS)
Follow up on all children and families who show interest in the church and also follow up and disciple children who have made a decision for Christ.
Attend activities that the children in the community are involved in to show support and to build relationships with them and their families.
Prepare and administer the Children and Family Budget.
Work in collorbation with other members of the church staff.
