Job Description:
Community Presbyterian Church in Danville, CA is seeking a Technical Arts intern for a part time (25 hours / week) position open in the Worship & Arts Department. This position is a one-year position available starting September 2012

We are looking for someone who is a has a vibrant relationship with Jesus, has a strong interest in audio and visual technology, works with ease in MS Office and other common workplace applications, is eager and versatile and is a flexible team player. The ideal candidate will not be afraid to ask questions when in doubt, is a self-starter, hard worker, able to handle interruptions, think quickly under pressure and work well with others. Must be available to work weekends and occasionally outside of normal business hours. The ideal applicant will also bring a strong sense that their work is a ministry, not just a job.

Standard duties include setting up and operating audio visual and PA equipment for ministry events and services. Previous audio engineering experience is not required but is highly preferred, as is a strong computer background. Additional training will be offered as needed. General familiarity with media applications such as ProPresenter, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects) and digital audio editing software (ProTools, Nuendo) is also highly preferred.

Community Presbyterian Church is a respected evangelical community of faith in the East Bay region of San Francisco. We have a long history of serving Christ, having been an active presence in our region since the mid-1850’s. Despite our long history, however, we are fully contemporary in our approach and desire to preach and live out the Gospel. Recently, we affiliated with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church denomination reflecting our commitment to the pursuit of excellence and to being “radically engaged” with each other and with our broader community.

This position is a great opportunity that will allow someone with aptitude but limited experience to gain hands-on exposure working with A/V technology in a ministry environment.
