The Executive Pastor of Discipleship Ministries of Ginghamsburg Church partners with the Senior Pastor and serves with the executive leadership team to dream and deploy all aspects of Ginghamsburg’s discipleship ministries across ages. This includes the supervision and coaching of the Directors of Adult Discipleship, Student Ministry and Children’s Ministry.

Education & Experience:
-Master of Divinity degree and ordination as United Methodist clergy preferred
-Proven track record of success in a paid, staff leadership position within a megachurch environment (2000+ in attendance) preferred
-Track record of successful recruitment/equipping/deploying of paid staff and unpaid servants (volunteers)
-Expertise in discipleship ministry and staff development and deployment
-Ability to re-engineer and lead discipleship structures and systems that will maximize the ministry and grow disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world; includes ability to lead change.
-Ability to recruit, build and deploy effective paid and unpaid teams to accomplish the mission.
-Ability to coach others on how to be strong leaders and coaches of others.
-Experience in/understanding of how to develop/deploy effective discipleship opportunities for all ages.
-Student of lifestyle issues and cultural trends.
-Understanding of appropriate human resource policies and practices.
-Understanding of budgeting and overall financial management/oversight practices for discipleship ministries.
-Strong written and spoken communication skills.
-Ability to preach effectively.
-Partner with the Senior Pastor and leadership team to dream and deploy all aspects of Ginghamsburg’s discipleship ministries for all ages; will translate the vision into measurable goals, track goals to completion and build/sustain the systems and organizational structures that will position the discipleship team for success.
-Partner with the Cell Group Ministry/Adult Discipleship Team staff to re-engineer Ginghamsburg’s cell group ministry as the primary discipling tool/forum for the church and provide oversight of the selection/creation of group curriculum.
-Partner with the Directors of Ministries to create/implement the strategy for deploying innovative discipleship opportunities across all ages; includes providing the day-to-day supervision of the Adult Ministry Director, Student Ministry Director and Children’s Ministry Director.
-Provide additional bench depth to the pastoral teaching/preaching team at Ginghamsburg as required, occasionally participating in worship design and the delivery of the weekend message at any Ginghamsburg campus.
-Partner with the Executive Director of Business Operations (and other ministry directors as appropriate) to prepare annual ministry budget for all discipleship areas.
-Partner with the Pastor of New Church Development to coordinate effective discipleship ministries across Ginghamsburg’s Dayton campuses.
-Identify and participate in regional and national networking opportunities.
-Serve as a trainer/presenter at conferencing events as appropriate.
-As appropriate, contributes to or creates original curriculum or resources for internal deployment as well as to other churches.
