POSITION TITLE: HIGH SCHOOL PASTOR
LOCATION: KNOXVILLE, TN METROPOLITAN AREA
SALARY RANGE: COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE
DENOMINATION: NON-DENOMINATIONAL
JOB DESCRIPTION / DUTIES:

• Oversee the entire 9th grade thru 12th grade Student Ministry
• Set and carry out the vision for the student ministry
• Be a mentor to students and counsel students and parents
• Recruit, equip, and invest in student leaders and adult volunteers
• Visit high schools (lunches, sporting events, activities, etc.), building relationships with students and faculty
• Plan activities/gatherings outside of church
• Plan and execute Summer camp
• Plan and oversee high school community groups
• Plan and oversee summer activities and special events (trips to theme parks, ball games etc.)
• Plan and oversee outreach, local and foreign mission trips, etc.
• Prioritize responsibilities
• Plan activities that reach the “churched” and the “unchurched”
• Attend and participate in regular Staff meetings

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Innovative, organized, passionate person who loves high school kids
• Strong leader who can recognize gifts in others and use and develop those gifts
• Relational and interesting teaching skills
• Must be able to delegate responsibilities and authority well
• Must have an understanding that there are many people who don’t follow Jesus here; need to be able to relate to them as well as the life-long believers
• Energetic, eager and ambitious – not a “maintainer”; ok to fail trying (fail forward)
• At least 3 years’ experience and a proven track record of growth and success in a Student Ministry of at least 100 students
• A 4-year degree from a university/college
