The Presbyterian Church at Woodbury, New Jersey is a warm caring friendly 350 member community of faith in Jesus Christ located in a suburb of Philadelphia, an hour’s drive from beach communities. We are committed to youth ministry and have employed a full time youth Director for the last 8 years. We draw families and students from 8 local high school districts. As members of the Body of Christ, we encourage each other as well as our youth to deepen their personal faith, through individual prayer, worship, Bible study and service. This full time position includes all aspects of leading a thriving youth ministry that reflects the mission statement of our congregation. The critical task is to continue to build a relational youth ministry where youth (grades 4 – 12) feel welcomed, valued and cared for as they learn who Jesus is, how to follow Him and how basic Bible truths can help them to make right choices in their daily lives. The Youth Director must demonstrate a relationship with Christ in his or her personal spiritual life, including regular corporate worship and service to Christ.

YOUTH DIRECTOR MISSION:
Minister to the spiritual and social needs of the youth (10–18 year olds), encouraging relationships with Jesus Christ, each other and the Church community;
Help youth develop healthy friendships through small and large groups, Bible studies, worship, events, service projects, challenging activities and outreach programs;
Develop and implement a Christ-centered, comprehensive program that will foster maturity and spiritual development in the youth.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Plan and direct weekly youth fellowship and Bible studies for grades 4 – 12
Plan and teach a creative Sunday church school class
Secure curriculum for youth fellowship and church school
Recruit, train and assist adult leaders
Plan and lead youth retreats, mission trips and other large events
Coordinate regular youth service opportunities for younger and older youth
Connect with students in the confirmation class
Support and attend youth school activities (sports/drama)
Develop a relationship with parents

The Youth Director will report directly to the Pastor (head of staff) and the Board of Elders through the Personnel Committee.
EDUCATION: a college degree (youth ministry is desired)
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Compensation package will be based upon education and experience
