The Executive Director of Operations/CFO is responsible for all financial, accounting and internal control matters as well as the operations of Christ Church. In this role, the Executive Director will be responsible for ensuring that all operational and financial matters are aligned with the mission and vision of the church and will advise key stakeholders, including the Senior Minister, Executive Team, Administrative Board and Finance Committee on such matters. The Executive Director will be responsible for all budgeting, financial and operational planning and analysis and for aligning the financial management of the church with the short and long-term strategy for Christ Church. The Executive Director will be responsible for maintaining the church financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, and maintaining an internal control environment of the highest integrity. The Executive Director will also have oversight of key accounting areas including accounts payable, payroll and cash management and will be responsible for coordinating the annual audit.

Other areas of responsibility include planning, designing and supporting the annual stewardship programs in collaboration with the Executive Team as well as leadership of the risk management (insurance), human resources and IT functions of the church. The risk management function includes placement, review and evaluation of all insurance policies, evaluation of insurance and safety issues for exposure to the church and claims management. Oversight of human resources includes monitoring and administering employee benefit plans and general HR administrative functions. Responsibilities over the IT area include oversight and management of the outsourced vendor responsible for general IT computing, hardware and network maintenance, and information security matters for Christ Church

• Committed and faithful follower of Jesus Christ and theological views aligned with the pastoral staff of Christ Church
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and Masters degree (Accounting, Finance or Business) or CPA
• Proven, extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal control requirements
• Financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting skills required
• Ability to lead large stewardship or fund-raising program
• Risk management, human resources and IT strongly preferred
• Exceptional leadership and management skills with an ability to manage staff across multiple disciplines
• Ability to think strategically, combined with objective, independent judgment and decision making skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong collaboration skills to enable partnering with Executive Team and ministerial areas of the Church
• Strongly encouraged to routinely attend CUMC worship services
