Pastor of High School Ministries Job Announcement

The Position
Whittier Area Community Church is searching for a gifted person with a passion in student ministries to fill the full time position of Pastor of High School Ministries. This ministry consists of over 250 high school students, 30 volunteer leaders, and 2 part-time assistants. This person will be responsible for the pastoring of the high school students, the development of the volunteer staff team, and the implementation of a ministry strategy that develops students into life-long disciples who are connected to the larger church body. This task will require intentionality in partnering with parents and families.

The Student Ministries at WACC is a multi-faceted department that works in close relationship with one another, so the candidate must possess strong gifts of leadership, organization, and enjoy collaboration. He or she must be a talented and creative communicator with both a broad understanding of scripture and the world that high school students in Los Angeles County and Orange County live in. This person must also be a team player, self-starter, and highly relational.

Qualifications
The qualifications begin with a Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience working in Preaching/Student Ministries. A graduate seminary degree is preferred. Also required is a proven track record of effectiveness in recruiting, equipping and mobilizing paid and volunteer staff for ministry. The person must possess strong interpersonal skills, time management skills, team building skills, and must be an excellent communicator.

Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time 40 hours per week position.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Insurance coverage, retirement, and other benefits are set forth in WACC’s Personnel Policy Manual.
