Music/Youth Pastor

Job Description:
London Baptist Church is located in New London, Texas (25 miles from Tyler & 25 miles from Longview). New London is a small town of about 1,000 where most the inhabitants work in the oil industry. However our ministry area covers the West Rusk School District which reaches to the edge of Henderson. We also reach the town of Overton, which has a population of 2300. Our church, located next door to the West Rusk Schools (2A in size). We are the only church in the area with two full-time ministerial staff (pastor and music/youth pastor). Our worship services are a blend of traditional and contemporary. We have a nice family life center with full court and a stage, with good sound equipment. We have a vibrant outreach to youth through our Wednesday evening activities. Since they can walk over from the school, we have many youth that do not attend church at any other time. We also have a wonderful children's ministry led by a volunteer, but professionally trained and experienced, children's minister. In addition to the compensation listed above, the church provides a 3-bedroom home, with utilities paid, for the music/youth position.
The expectations of this position are 1) plan and lead congregational worship; 2) plan and lead youth activities; 3) counsel youth as needed; 3) provide technical expertise in the areas of audio-visuals and computers; and 4) work with pastor in the overall leadership of the church.
