High Pointe Church
Job Description:
High Pointe Church in Thompson, CT is currently looking for a Worship Arts Pastor. We are a culturally relevant and technologically solid church in the quiet corner of New England. We have grown to 800 people each week and expect continued growth. We're looking for someone to continue our standard of worship arts excellence, as well as take us to the next level. Our musical style is contemporary worship: Hillsong, Baloche, Brewster, Tomlin, Walker, Gungor, Camp, Gateway, Integrity and Vertical artists (you get the idea).

We desire a motivated worship leader to work with our dedicated Worship Arts Team. Our worship leader will have solid music experience, be tech savvy, possess leadership abilities, be very relational, and have a pastor’s heart. If you are looking to join a thriving church, work with a gifted team, and minister in an area that needs the gospel, then this may be your job.

Here are some questions to think about:

Do you feel a call to serve in New England? Are you interested in helping a church continue to grow in an area that is not culturally saturated with the gospel?

Do you have solid experience as a leader of a Worship Arts Department?

Are you interested in expanding an already healthy volunteer structure of worship artists, technology teams, and a worship arts assistant (part-time)?

Are you a high-capacity worship leader who can bring musical excellence to the stage, and to worship planning? Do you appreciate the practical difference between performance and worship music excellence?

Does providing a weekly encounter with God excite you? Do you love to engage a congregation and have them truly sing out in worship?

Does providing amazing and or creative musical and dramatic arts experiences during the holidays excite you?

Formal education in music, worship arts, or biblical studies required. Experienced is valued and taken into consideration.

We offer a generous compensation with superior benefits and bonuses. Our financial package averages above the national average based upon the 2012, 2013 Church compensation guide. We are also generous when it comes to the technological needs of the worship leader and their team. We are outfitted with the latest, state of the art and top of line audio equipment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- A Solid Calling to New England and a high commitment to the local church.
- The ability to manage a large and growing Worship Arts Department.
Hard-working with a "whatever it takes" attitude.
A team player who is organized and understands deadlines.
A passion for the Bible and a desire to minister to the team and work in other areas.
A person of innovation in all areas of worship arts.
- A high level of comprehension in music, a/v technology, and sound reinforcement.
Someone who has strong vocal capabilities.
Ability to read and write music notation and chord charts a must.
Ability to work with vocalist and teach vocal parts is a must.
A passion and drive to stream line worship arts throughout the entire church. To be intentional in overseeing children’s, youth and adult worship arts expressions.
Relational: This is not negotiable, you must desire to journey with our team and church.
Shepherd’s heart: Must desire to train up and or cultivate musicians and vocalists in all stages of talent.
- Must be willing to make a 5 year minimum commitment.

PREFERENCES... OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
We are a “mac-centric” ministry, an understanding of pro presenter, keynote, pages, final cut and other mac software a major plus.
Someone who is comfortable creating and or editing video a major plus.
Someone who is comfortable with sound and video reinforcement. We run top of the line sound and a/v gear and need someone capable to use it, as well as train and or maintain our sound and a/v teams.
Someone who gives attention to detail and deadlines and can do so while maintaining a servant’s heart towards the pastor and an attitude of God honoring leadership to his teams.
- Definite preference given to a worship leader who leads from the keyboard.

Only resumes accompanied with a LINK TO A VIDEO of you leading worship or a DVD will be accepted. Video must represent you leading worship in a normal church service environment.

Your resume should answer why you are interested in this position.

BIBLICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be evangelical, with a spouse that is also in doctrinal agreement with the church. Must believe in tithing. Must not embrace traditional Calvinism. This theological position would not be a good fit. We want thinking, intellectually capable and honest people. However, we have a firm position against the theology of a “limited atonement” and “irresistible grace.” We certainly respect others who hold differing positions, we just do not want to complicate your life and ours by being on different pages theologically. We do have quite a bit of latitude regarding other views. We have former Baptists, Nazarene, AOG, Methodists and Congregationalists on staff. We are, however, not looking for someone who embraces a progressive theological liberalism, i.e. no literal hell, or believes in a second chance after death. We believe in an inspired and preserved Word. This is our final authority on all matters pertaining to faith and practice.
