This church, of an average attendance of 1300 weekly, has a massive kids’ ministry that funnels into the Student Ministry program. In addition to a great program, the position offers friendly

In addition to having a love for students and seeing them draw closer to the Lord, the right person for this ministry will possess great leadership and organizational skills. They will have the ability to relate to many different personalities, and to recruit,
train, and supervise volunteer leaders. They will also have a four-year degree and an energy level that can keep up with young people.

REPORTS TO: FAMILY MINISTRY DIRECTOR
JOB DESCRIPTION / DUTIES:
• Oversee Student Ministry for grades 6-12
• Serve as one of 7 senior staff who leads the church in a collegial manner
• Work as a positive team player with other ministries of the church in all areas--from communications to facilities
• Communicate vision for student ministries with passion, conviction, and clarity
• Serve on the Family Ministry staff team
• Recruit, train and provide leadership to volunteer teams
• Facilitate the use of the “Orange” XP3 curriculum and serve as primary communicator
• Assume responsibility for quality control of overall environment
• Develop and deliver production of weekly Middle School and High School program to include musical worship, creative communication, and use of relevant environment
• Ensure small groups align with other programming
• Maintain a safe environment, including requiring background checks of all volunteers, avoiding dangerous activities, and ensuring that liability release forms for students are completed
• Meet and mentor interns, leaders, and parents
• Build student leaders (disciples)
• Pastor and provide resources to kids/families in crisis
• Communicate, promote and prepare for meetings/events/trips
• Plan budget and monitor spending
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must love students and families
• Must exhibit a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Must have a minimum of 3 years’ full-time student ministry experience in a program of at least 75 students
• Must be able to use and have a passion for the “Orange” strategy in ministry and programming; experience with the XP3 curriculum a plus
• Must exhibit strong leadership skills with high school and middle school students, as well as adult volunteers
• Must be able to communicate relationally with large and small groups
• Must provide relevant, interesting, creative, and appropriate programming skills—large groups, small groups, worship team
• Must place a high value on the quality of production – décor, music, setting, feel, background music, staging, food, etc. and have the ability, creativity, and leadership to execute
• Must be a team player; able to work well with the people within this ministry, as well as the other ministries and staff
• Must relate well to a diverse group of students
• Must possess good technical skills—computers, sound, lighting
• Must have a high energy level and the physical ability to be active with students
• Four-year degree is required—degree in Student Ministry is great!
• Musical talent—vocal, guitar, etc. is a PLUS!
