Middle School Pastor Job Description
The Middle School Pastor will team with the High School Student Pastor, and the Associate Pastor to fulfill the purpose and vision of Dallas Bay Baptist Church and DBBC Student Ministry.
The Middle School Pastor plays a key role in supporting all areas of DBBC Student Ministry by providing vision, leadership development among the MS adult volunteers, multiplying himself, and creating a dynamic outreach and discipleship ministry to students in 6th – 8th grade. The Middle School pastor works closely with the High School Student Pastor in a healthy environment that is fluid, flexible, with a spirit of teamwork and cooperation. The Middle School Pastor reports directly to the Associate Pastor/Campus Pastor.
? Ordained Minister of the Gospel
? 3--5 years church ministry experience
? Minimum Bachelors Degree, seminary preferred.
? Leads home as Christ loved the Church and gave his life for it.
? Committed follower of Christ, growing in faith and personal relationship with
? Lives a personal lifestyle consistent with the DBBC mission statement.
? Personal dress and appearance appropriate to the business and Middle School
Ministry of DBBC.
? Possesses a “we can do it” and team attitude, with flexibility and adaptability in
an environment that is subject to many spur of the moment changes. Possesses
a gracious, Christ--like demeanor in demanding situations.
? Maintains a servant’s heart regarding the job description.
? Maintains a cooperative team spirit with staff, volunteers, parents and students.
? Strong organizational abilities.
? Does not discuss information learned about church families and members.
Primary Responsibilities – Middle School
The Middle School pastor is primarily responsible for all areas of the middle school ministry. (Events, summer camps, Leadership, mission trips, socials, Remix 68,, Fifth Quarters, etc.)
? Provide direction and leadership for the Middle School ministry discipleship program of the church.
? In a collaborative effort with the High School Pastor develop a life--changing (soul saving), high energy, Word--of--God--driven, visually stimulating Wednesday night outreach night.
? Organize and coordinate a balanced approach to middle school ministry that includes Bible study, mentoring, outreach, recreation, fellowship, missions, music and worship.
? Recruit and train leadership in the middle school ministry.
? Plan and direct all events for Middle School such as summer camp, mission trips,
retreats, weekday Bible study, youth emphasis Sunday, seminars, banquets, and
any other special events.
? Assist in developing middle school ministry team for the purpose of planning,
implementing, and evaluating a healthy middle school program.
? Provide counseling to meet the special needs of young people and their parents,
or refer when necessary to an outside Christian Counseling service.
? Develop a discipleship or mentoring program to meet the unique needs of the
parents of middle school students and seek to involve them in the youth
? Develop a systematic method for outreach.
? Keep up--to--date of the latest educational methods and share them with the
? Develop an intern program to assist in the development of those who have
sensed God calling them to youth ministry.
? Develop and manage the annual Middle School budget as a critical component of
the student ministry budget, the education ministry budget, and the overall
? Accept other duties as assigned by the Associate pastor.
