Position Description

Title: Technical Director

Reporting Relationship: The Technical Director reports to the Worship Arts Pastor

Function: Empowering and supporting technical teams to creatively and clearly communicate God’s message to those close to Him and the Message of the Gospel to those far from Him. The Technical Director will develop, lead, and empower the technical teams in all aspects of worship services, productions, events, and gatherings - in the spirit of Ridge Point’s mission and vision.

Hours: Exempt-Full Time, Exempt employees are generally expected to devote the number of hours necessary to complete their respective tasks. May include weekend and/or possible evening hours

• Lead the execution of technical aspects of worship services, productions, events, and gatherings to artistically communicate God’s message clearly and with excellence
o Oversee and lead all technical aspects of the weekend services, coordination of volunteers and equipment
o Assist as needed in the coordination and execution of church events and gatherings outside of the weekend services, promoting technical excellence and a servant’s heart to the church as a whole.
o Coordinate with other Ridge Point church ministry teams to educate and promote technical excellence in a “behind the scenes” manner in all our services, events, and gatherings
• Intentionally recruit, develop, encourage, and empower those with technical gifts
o Coordinate all weekend volunteers for Sound, Lighting, Video, and Media Teams
o Oversee and assist with Stage Décor, Construction, Design/Setup Teams
• Ongoing evaluation of technology changes, enabling the strengthening of worship experiences
o Implementing relevant programming that is attractive to seekers and believers
o Keeping the church and worship arts department up to date with current tech trends, implementing changes where needed and as necessary

• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ that results in a life lived in obedience to the will of God as described in the Word of God, evident by spiritual fruit and the desire to grow in the Lord
• Visionary leader; forward thinker; self-directed; team oriented
• Genuine servant-hood, faith-centeredness, and spiritual maturity
• Spiritual gifts of leadership, creative communication, and administration
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; self-confidence enabling ability to “speak the truth in love”
• Preferred two years experience in leading successful technical arts ministry in a growing church environment
• Preferred two years of proven ability to develop, lead, and motivate volunteer teams
• Preferred two years of proven ability in developing media and coordinating technical aspects of production
• Demonstrated passion promoting the use of arts and technology, with a relevant and dynamic approach to ministry for maximum local cultural impact
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, encourage, and empower volunteer leaders in healthy ways which promote their spiritual growth and further the ministry of the church
• Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with widely used church software and programs (Pro Presenter, Final Cut Pro, Planning Center Online, etc)
• Demonstrated skill and knowledge of tech equipment troubleshooting, installation, and upkeep
• Beliefs consistent with Ridge Point’s “Statement of Belief”
• Member or willing to become a member of Ridge Point Church within 6 months of employment
