Job Description:
Southview Baptist is one of the area’s active and growing churches – a church dedicated to teaching the truth of scripture and the heart of God. Southview is a Southern Baptist church, conservative in theology, yet contemporary in worship. We average between 500 and 600 in attendance on Sundays with a diverse church family.

Brian Kinlaw has served as lead pastor since 2002. In that time, Southview has grown greatly in attendance, developed a children’s ministry, and increased the active participation of adults in small groups. Within 5 miles of Southview there are 80,000 people. Also, Southview is strategically located 15 to 20 minutes from Fort Bragg, one of the largest army installations.

Ministry team:
We are team-driven. Communication and interaction is very important, so we have weekly meetings with the ministry staff, plus regular individual meetings between the lead pastor and each ministry pastor. Each pastor has clear assignments, and we seek to work together to create vision and deal with challenges.
• Brian Kinlaw—Lead Pastor
• Scott Chatham—Director of Worship Ministries
• Vacant—Minister to Children and Family
• Shane Lakey—Student Minister
• Charlie Bedsole—Disciple and Outreach Pastor

Children’s Ministry:
• Early childhood/elementary departments are staffed with 60 volunteer leaders and workers
• We follow the mindset of Deuteronomy 6, seeking to partner with parents and equip them to lead in the faith development of their children.
• An average of 150 kids attend every Sunday
• An average of 75 - 100 kids attend every Wednesday

Family Ministry:
Southview is taking steps in developing family ministry; we have currently implemented:
• A weekend marriage seminar
• First grade Bible presentation
• Purity class for parents of 4th and 5th graders
• Various seminars

Knowing the family is one of the God-ordained pillars of society, Southview places great value in ministry to families; we are purposefully seeking to improve our ability to equip and strengthen parents’ and children’s walk with Christ by finding creative ways to encourage and reach them. We are ready to take the next step in this vital ministry of our church!
