The primary responsibility is lead the GROW Character portion of the Student Ministry which may include a systematic re-vamping of current “discipleship” structure. This is to include, but not be limited to:
o Recruit, Train, and Encourage Adult Volunteers
o Download groups
o Mentoring groups/relationships
o Accountability groups
Lead a team of adult volunteers. This is to include recruiting, training, and encouraging with clear expectations of their roles and how they are discovering their purpose by serving within the student ministry.
Provide structure and integration of 6th graders into the Student Ministry. This is to include, but not be limited to:
o 6th grade Welcome to rising 6th graders
o Ministering to the needs of 6th grade parents throughout their first year in student ministry.
o Monthly activities specifically designed to engage 6th graders into the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Student Ministry
Focus on important transitional years in a student's life
o Begin a MS leadership team of 7th and 8th grade students.
o Other activities to help MS students “live out” the mission of the church.
Plan and Lead MS and HS Retreat for the purpose of helping students grow their character
Vacation Bible Spectacular: Student Ministry Associate(s) will be responsible for recruiting, training, promoting, and coordinating students serving in VBS. They will work with the summer intern(s) to oversee this.
Lead Local Mission Trip: Student Ministry Associate(s) will be responsible for helping in the planning, coordinating, and training of volunteers and students for the trip. Delegating responsibilities to other adults (and intern(s)) will be a must.
Wednesday Night Service: Student Ministry Associate(s) will assist in the programming and communication for Wednesday nights during the school year.
