Job Description:
Purpose: We exist to passionately love God and others, live out the truth of God’s Word and reach people for Christ.
Core Calling: Together we reach and restore the hurting towards wholeness in Christ.
Values: We live out ministry by being Relational, Authentic, Honoring and Redemptive
Children’s Ministry Leader ROLE: Increase the scope, impact and depth of CTR’s Children’s Ministry that’s consistent with our values, aimed at accomplishing our Core Calling & living out our purpose. Provide leadership in the development of a plan to reach and restore hurting kids towards wholeness in Christ.

Desire: A passion to see children reached and transformed by the good news of Jesus.
Experiences: Demonstrates confirmation that God has directed them to this sort of role in the body of Christ, showing fruit in this role. High level experience with all aspects of team leadership and development, training, teaching and ministry design. Some basic knowledge of process, volunteer management, and staff development.
Spiritual Gifting: Leadership, Teaching, Exhortation
Individual Style: Designer/Developer who loves God and people, oversight capabilities, with an eye for detail.
Growth: Member of CTR, completed Discover (membership) classes, Character Development class, character of a deacon/deaconess. Demonstrates a biblical understanding of foundational doctrine, the NT church, leadership, and teacher/student relationship.
Natural Abilities & Strengths: Demonstrates high-level ability to plan and execute a progressive plan; able to mentor, train and develop other team members, able to build and equip teams. Good people and communication skills, with an attitude of service and humility in leadership. Able to mobilize, contagious love for children, big picture thinking, desire for integration.
Availability: Weekend services, weekday office hours, and occasional weekday evenings or weekends (outside of services) for training and leader meetings.
Specific responsibilities:
• Provide vision and value for strong families
Be the champion to minister to the whole family. Have eyes to think “how are we involving the family
as a whole? How are we equipping parents to be the primary spiritual leaders in their kid’s lives?
How do we equip parents to be involved in their kids / students lives?
• Provide oversight, vision and direction for all of Children’s Min (Early Childhood, Breakout, etc).
Work alongside Student Ministries Leader towards integration and “one team” approach to Children
and youth ministries.
Build into existing staff and volunteer teams to move forward as a ministry, find better ways to work in
area’s of strength, and raise them up to fulfill God’s call on their lives.
Integrate CM efforts throughout the rest of CTR ministries, aligned with current direction and focus.
Provide oversight to recruitment timing, strategy and focus.
Provide leadership and vision for Breakout (Wednesday nights), giving direction for leaders.
• Develop the ministry to reach and restore more hurting children towards wholeness in Christ.
Work with existing Children’s Ministry staff to redesign CTR Children’s Ministry
Find improved ways to meet the CTR body’s needs, while reaching more kids with Jesus
Mobilize all of CTR body to be active in the mission of Children’s Min
Build and equip teams, leaders and volunteers to fill critical positions within CM.
Able to teach / develop teachers to address critical issues of children / students lives.
• Live our CTR values (Relational, Redemptive, Honoring, Authentic) and help infuse them throughout all of
Children’s Ministry, and work towards accomplishing our Core Calling.
• Stay progressive in CM, looking for “best ways” for CM to accomplish our Core Calling.
Keep a pulse on new ideas and strategies used by other churches that are working well
Attend training and doing research (some funds available from the church).
Provide “big picture” training, inspiration and opportunities for CTR church body to grab onto.
Required Meetings: Children’s Min staff Meetings, Breakout leader meetings, regular meeting with Student Min Leader, All Staff, and Transformation Meetings.
