Education: Graduation with a 4-year degree of a recognized college or university with major course work in business administration, finance, human resources is preferred
Experience: This is a supervisory staff position. Supervision and coordination across multiple lines of staff ministry positions.
Prefer minimum 5 years direct experience managing church business operations, strategic planning, facilities, financial, and human resources.

Description: First Assembly has a Sunday morning attendance of 1000 and is located in Lafayette, Indiana with strong ties and commitment to the community, seeks an Executive Pastor/Director of Operations. First Assembly is in a growth mode, with dramatic congregational, day care, school and financial growth. Nearly 70 full-time and more than 15 part-time employees serve the church and its community ministries. See our website at for an overview of our programs and ministries.
The position will implement the ministry vision of the Senior Pastor and church board and manage operations of the church, school, daycare, and adult day center. Participation in designated meetings will be required. Responsible for administration of finance, personnel, facilities, and communication. Will share responsibility for strategic planning with Senior Pastor and other ministry leaders. Volunteer development should also be part of this person’s role, as volunteers are the most significant portion of First Assembly’s workforce.
Candidate must have a strong commitment to Jesus Christ and his Church. Must have familiarity with Christian organizations, preferably the Assemblies of God, with a strong background/experience base in leadership, management, and general operations of the church. A generalist rather than a specialist, to serve as a bridge between operations and ministry, clergy and church members, systems and people. Requires analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Oral and written communications proficiency are required, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
