The Technical & Sound Engineer role at Ginghamsburg Church is multi-faceted. This person will ensure excellence in live sound for powerful worship experiences. He or she will also be responsible for audio-visual needs within the church. This includes supporting all activities, events and classes at all campuses. Duties also include troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs in all areas. This ministry position will require on average 40 hours per week and include evening and weekend hours.

Ginghamsburg is a mission-driven church and a United Methodist community of 4500 attendees across three locations that is actively serving locally, nationally and globally to change the world one life at a time. As a missional church, Ginghamsburg has invested $5.5 million into sustainable humanitarian projects in Darfur, Sudan, and Aweil, South Sudan, since January 2005; has sent more than 75 teams to the Gulf Coast for Hurricane Katrina relief; and operates three non-profits serving nearly 50,000 people in our surrounding communities.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Responsible for all aspects of audio at each campus.
-FOH sound engineer for Tipp City Campus Worship Celebrations and other events.
-Recruit, develop, train and mentor excellent unpaid servant teams for all campuses.
-Edit weekly audio podcast.
-Ensure daily set-ups for audio-visual/media equipment is covered and respond to requests for audio-visual services submitted via the Event Schedule Request process.
-Maintain inventory of sound, lighting and audio-visual equipment and update the inventory -documentation on an ongoing basis.
-Manage maintenance schedule for ongoing, regular maintenance of equipment and provide that maintenance as appropriate for all campuses.
-Recommend budgeting outlooks for current and future sound, lighting and audio-visual/media -equipment needs.

-Formal live sound training and at least 3 years of continuous professional Sound Engineering experience.
-Either paid or unpaid Sound Engineering experience in a church or with faith-based organization preferred.
-Solid understanding of industry stand practices and techniques.
-Live sound engineering for large venues consisting of at least 40 channels.
-Fluent with both analog and digital consoles.
-Solid understanding of signal flow and proper gain structures.
-Experienced mixing many genres including Rock, Gospel, Contemporary Christian, Country, Folk.
-Leadership skills for directing teams of unpaid servants.
-Ability to communicate with, train and mentor unpaid servants effectively.
-Strong troubleshooting skills.
-Commitment and ability to work in and contribute to the overall staff team in a team-based environment.
-Commitment to quality in all areas.
-Concern for process and attention to detail.
-Calm under pressure.
