Job Description:
We are seeking a Family & Children’s Pastor to create dynamic environments of life change for our 175 children and their families. Harmony Vineyard Church, with approximately 700 in weekly attendance, thrives with an ethnically diverse, intergenerational congregation and is passionate about real life transformation.

Position Summary
The Family & Children’s Pastor is a full-time position overseeing all ministries for the spiritual growth of children 6 months old to 5th grade. Because we believe that the home and church partnering together can make the biggest impact in a child’s life, a special emphasis is placed on engaging and equipping families. Additionally, the call to make disciples is taken seriously. As a result, leaders are involved in intentional, reproducible disciple-making rhythms of life. Our Family & Children’s Pastor reports directly to the Executive Pastor. Male and female candidates will be considered.

- A commitment to living a reproducible life and intentionally making disciple-makers
- A natural ability to relate well to both children and their parents
- Capable of seeing the big picture yet discussing the details
- A commitment to the church’s vision, core values and ministry priorities
- Agreement with the church’s basic theology (harmonyvineyard.com/statement-of-faith)

Professional Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Three plus years of relevant, full-time experience; at least one full year should be as a paid church staff
- A team-oriented, visionary leader with direct people management experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Developed administrative and organizational skills
- A demonstrated familiarity with the Orange ministry philosophy (whatisOrange.org)
- A ready acceptance of the discipleship philosophies and practices of 3DM (weare3DM.com)
- Openness to the spontaneous and powerful ministry of the Holy Spirit in public and private settings

- Oversee all ministry activities for children from nursery-5th grade (infant/toddler, preschool, early elementary, late elementary and event-based childcare).
- Engage and equip families, helping parents expand their spiritual influence within their homes
- Actively participate in the church’s organized disciple-making strategies
- Lead and direct the activities of various teams comprised of staff and volunteers
- Set the overall tone and direction for the paid staff, oversee their weekly activities
- Recruit, equip, and shepherd the ministry’s volunteers
- Develop and manage to a yearly ministry plan and budget
- Be an active participant in the church’s overall direction and leadership
- Coordination with the Youth Pastor to ensure seamless transition of children into youth ministry
- Curriculum identification, procurement, approval and, if necessary, development
- Oversight of community events to families and children (e.g. Summer Jam, movie nights, etc.)
- Stay current with latest trends in children’s and family ministry, bringing the best ideas forward for evaluation
