Rocky Mountain College, the oldest institution of higher education in Montana, located in Billings, invites applicants for the College Chaplain/Director of Campus Ministries and Church Relations position to begin August 1, 2012. Rocky is a comprehensive college grounded in the liberal arts with over 900 students, distinctive academic programs, and an ideal location near the Beartooth entrance to Yellowstone National Park and the Rocky Mountains of Montana. Identified by U.S. News and World Report as one of the 10 best regional comprehensive colleges in the West, Rocky prides itself on creating an undergraduate teaching environment that supports student learning through small classes, one-on-one faculty/student collaboration, and excellent instructional technology facilities. This position reports to the Vice President for Student Life and is responsible for coordinating religious and spiritual life/activities which honor our Christian heritage and church relatedness. It is a symbol of our commitment to the development of religious faith, religious tolerance and free inquiry. The College Chaplain/Director of Campus Ministries and Church Relations is primarily a pastoral counselor for the student body, encouraging learning, dialogue and understanding of individual and religious faith journeys. She/He will serve as our primary church relations connection with related denominations. Finally, to further our growing diversity, the College Chaplain/Director of Campus Ministries and Church Relations will encourage discussion and awareness of all expressions of faith; recognizing the diversity on campus, it is critical that the discussion be inclusive.

We seek an experienced individual with a Master of Divinity Degree. Prefer applicants Ordained by, or on an Ordination track with the College’s related denominations - Presbyterian Church USA, United Church of Christ, or United Methodist Church.
