General Summary:

Vibrant, passion-filled Christian church with rich history, located in beautiful downtown St. Petersburg, FL, seeks an experienced Facilities Manager. Position offers the opportunity to merge your career with service to God by helping us preserve and maintain our historical landmark and campus-style facility.

Facility Manager would be responsible for the day-to-day operations of six (6) United Methodist church-owned buildings creating an optimal, safe and cost-effective environment for the occupants in which to function. Duties include the management and supervision of all maintenance systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), construction and facility projects, security and janitorial operations, fire safety, emergency procedures, statutory testing and inspections, grounds maintenance, disaster preparedness, budgeting, capital improvements and annual facility planning.

Employment Qualifications:

Education & Experience: High school graduation or equivalent required. College degree preferred. Ten (10) years of facility/property/construction management experience with expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, construction management and other building trade areas. Mechanical and electrical certification preferred. Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Required Skills: Proven ability to manage and supervise facilities staff of 5 or more individuals; communicate both written and oral instructions clearly and concisely; highly detailed and organized; self starter; strong interpersonal skills including recruitment and support of volunteers; ability to present concepts and proposals to church committees and members in large settings

Strong supervisory experience
Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License
