Job Description:
Houston Northwest Church is a Southern Baptist congregation seeking a full-time Student Pastor for junior and senior high school students. We are asking God for a man who will provide vision and leadership in this area, and who is able to develop and administer an effective, growing student ministry. The student pastor reports to the Senior Pastor, which is currently an open position.

• Spiritual maturity, evidenced by a walk with Christ that others can follow
• Passion for personal evangelism and reaching the lost for Christ
• Heart to disciple students and help students grow in Christ
• Demonstrated ability to teach God’s word to students
• Capacity to understand and connect with students and parents
• Team player attitude and excellent interpersonal communication
• Organizational skills with experience in planning and leading events
• Creativity in ministry to students and experience in utilizing technology
• Willingness to work flexible and/or extended hours in ministry to students
• Calling to student ministry in this season of life
• Undergraduate degree in related field required, master’s degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading in student ministry
• Committed to membership, doctrine and overall vision of Houston NW Church

• Continue to grow in your personal relationship with God
• Teach the Bible with relevance and clarity to both junior and senior high students each week
• Coordinate weekly student worship that includes teaching, live band, multi-media in a fun and engaging environment for the students (currently over 100 junior and senior high attending)
• Incorporate weekly small groups as a part of the ministry strategy (currently 75 active students)
• Identify and develop opportunities/events to reach non-Christian students
• Engage students in discipleship opportunities essential for spiritual growth
• Build relationships with students, and counsel students and parents as needed
• Oversee and coordinate events to include summer camps/mission trips, spring/winter retreats and special outreach/catalyst-type events for the lost
• Develop and equip adult and student leadership
• Recruit, train and sustain adult volunteers for student ministry (currently over 25 serving)
• Supervise, equip and evaluate 2 full-time staff as well as summer interns
(Staff will initially include an associate student pastor and an administrative assistant)
• Manage the student ministry budget
• Partner with parents – foster communication and provide equipping
