Job Description:
Seeking full-time Associate Pastor to shepherd new ministry to young families.

Central United Methodist Church of Richmond, Indiana (800 members), is seeking a full-time associate pastor who can help us fulfill our mission to make new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Through outreach to the broader community, he or she will help lead us to identify, invite, serve and shepherd new young families through targeted ministries which empower families to be whole, encourage children and youth to thrive, and engage young families in working to meet the needs of our community. Working with the Lead Pastor, the Associate Pastor will help the church to develop an additional worship service that is intergenerational and is an alternative to our current traditional services. The Associate Pastor also will work closely with our Director of Children and Youth Ministries and our Director of Preschool Ministries and Adult Discipleship.

Education & Experience
The Associate Pastor should have:
• A completed or nearly completed seminary degree, preferably with a focus in church planting and Bible or Christian ministry.
• Christian disciplines and United Methodist doctrine and theology.
• Vision and a demonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage and implement ministry within the parameters of the United Methodist Church.
• Current ordination or local pastor’s license in the United Methodist Church or willingness to pursue ordination or licensing.
• Experience in church planting and/or working with, equipping, and empowering leaders and volunteers in a growing church setting.
• Ministry and program experience in working with youth and adults.

• Position begins July 1, 2012.
