Job Description:
K2 The Church is seeking an elementary director will give vision, direction, communication and leadership to the volunteers and parents of K2 the Church. The Elementary director will recruit and train volunteers as well as overseeing the overall operations of all ministries related to children grades K-6.

Currently our Elementary program consists of 150-200 Elementary Students per Sunday, and about 60 volunteers who work 1-4 times monthly.

Core competencies the director:

1) Have been a strong believer for a minimum of 5 years, with strong core biblical knowledge.

2) Have the ability to recruit, train and lead leaders & large numbers of volunteers.
(Previous experience leading volunteers is preferred)

3) Have Communication Skills, both verbal and written that communicate vision, and inspire others.

Elementary Director

20-25 hours, salaried position.

PART 1:

Core competencies of the director:

2) Have the ability to recruit, train and lead leaders & large numbers of volunteers.

PART 2:

General Description:

Key Results Areas: The elementary director will give vision, direction, communication and leadership to the volunteers and parents of K2 the Church. The Elementary director will recruit and train volunteers as well as overseeing the overall operations of all ministries related to children grades K-6.

Responsible to: Adventure Canyon Director

Office hours: TBD by AC director

Staff Meetings: Meet weekly or as needed with AC Director, attend AC and K2 all staff meetings.

Next Level Thinking: Be responsible for setting the course for the elementary (Grades K-6). Constantly think about what it would take to bring the AC elementary to the next level.

Leadership Development: Raise up and train volunteer leaders for each ministry who will be responsible for various aspects of elementary ministry.

Volunteer Training: Create opportunities for all elementary Staff to be trained and equipped.

Communication: Keep an open line of communication with volunteer, parents and students. Create Newsletters, Emails, Website Updates and postings that will communicate the values, policies and direction for AC elementary.

Weekend Services: Have fully staffed ministries, making sure all volunteers are trained and equipped to effectively communicate the lessons.

Curriculum: Review and approve curriculum for use in all Elementary classes.

Classrooms: Make sure classrooms are clean, stocked, and decorated in a way that exudes excellence.

Supplies: Make sure supplies are stocked and organized in a way that staff can easily access what they need

Schedules: Publish quarterly schedules that are available one month in advance of the quarter. Be responsible for developing a system for substitutions and incorporating new volunteers.
