Kent Chinese Alliance Church

Denominations: Christian Missionary Alliance

Job Type: Full-Time
Kent Chinese Alliance Church (KCAC) is a vibrant cross-cultural church that initially launched in 2004 with a Chinese-speaking (Cantonese) ministry and later expanded in 2008 with an English-speaking ministry. In 2011, after celebrating just 7 years of ministry, the church purchased a sizeable facility in the city of Kent to accommodate its growing congregation for years to come. By God's provision through the church's 100+ faithful members, KCAC has flourishing children's, youth, college, and adult ministries that meet every week in a facility conveniently located just one mile east of the Kent Station shopping center.
Despite the overall success of KCAC, the church's English-speaking ministry has failed to increase numerically since its inception 4 years ago. Currently, the Chinese ministry consists of 110 adults, 20 Chinese-speaking college students, and 35 children. The English ministry, on the other hand, is made up of just 15 adults and 15 youth. KCAC is now actively seeking a full-time pastor to lead and grow the English ministry.
As the Pastor of English Ministry, your job is to take an underdeveloped English ministry and turn it into a thriving body of passionate Christ-followers. You will use the entrepreneurial spirit that God has given you to build this ministry from the ground up and make it relevant to the church's English-speaking neighbors in the Kent community. Being a lover of Christ, you will have a heart for brothers and sisters who are in need and will mobilize the church to care for them in the name of Jesus. Drawing from your 3+ years of ministry experience, you will work closely with both adults and youth to organize events, meetings, and fellowships. Your interpersonal skills come in handy as you seek to communicate and resolve conflict across cultures in a bilingual church.
As the Pastor of English Ministry, you will put your Master of Divinity degree to good use by preaching life-changing Biblical truth to the English congregation through inspiring sermons. Your zeal for God's word overflows, and you teach the youth to become leaders of the next generation of Christians who faithfully follow Jesus. Since you have a close relationship with the Lord and are called to leadership, you will provide a clear vision for the English ministry and influence the mission and direction of the church.
