Job Description:
Role Overview

The Media Associate will report to the Director of Technical Ministries and will work as part of the Technical Ministries team giving oversight to media and video needs relating to Sunday services, ministry initiatives, special events and conferences of The Peoples Church.

Major Responsibilities

1. Technical Creative
a. Weekly development and preparation of Sunday media. This may include graphic development of weekly and special event promotional slides, background content and preparation of lyrics.
b. Create and develop video material for promotional purposes and events as needed.
c. Assist other ministries and ministry initiatives of The Peoples Church in developing screen content.

2. Technical Systems
a. Research, develop, and maintain media systems throughout the facility. This may include routine maintenance and calibration of current systems, as well as assisting with development of new systems as required.
b. Assist with Audio/lighting system maintenance as required.

3. Team Ministry
a. Be an active part of the Technical Ministries Team, bringing creativity and innovation to the Technical Department and The Peoples Church.
b. Actively participate in recruitment, mentoring, training, and development of a growing volunteer base within the ministry in knowledge, operation and use of equipment throughout the ministry.
c. Assist with departmental administrative tasks as required


1. Educational and Professional Background – The successful candidate will preferably have a University or College degree with minimum 2 years’ experience in the technical field or media production

2. Soft Skills - Video/Media: Knowledge and experience using: ProPresenter, PowerPoint, Keynote, Photoshop. Video Acquisition: Knowledge and experience with acquisition on location, lighting, camera, quality audio, script writing/working with personnel. Editing: Capture, edit (Final Cut Pro, Motion), and author DVDs.

3. General Audio/Lighting knowledge: Be familiar with large and small format audio systems, both Analogue and Digital. Knowledge and experience with proper use of compression, limiting, setting proper gain structure, etc. General knowledge of lighting systems and DMX protocol, both conventional and intelligent lighting fixtures.

4. Spiritual qualities – a person of deep faith and experience as a disciple of Jesus Christ who has a Christ-centred spiritual life; is passionate about the Ministry and mission of God through the local church; is familiar with, and has a love for, God’s word; is committed to living a moral, exemplary lifestyle in keeping with the Christian faith; is practicing a disciplined and balanced life that includes a healthy family life and a desire to grow spiritually through prayer, study and personal development.
