Life Group Coordinator

Ginghamsburg Church is a mission-driven church and a United Methodist community of 4500-plus attendees that is actively serving locally, nationally and globally to change the world one life at a time. Ginghamsburg's Life Group ministry is a crucial part in growing disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. This coordinator position serves as the primary administrator for groups. A strong candidate for this position will partner well with life group leaders and be able to gather, track and analyze data about groups both online as well as in person. Strong computer skills are a must.

Life Group Coordinator

Accountable to:
Adult Discipleship Director
Executive Director of Discipleship Ministries

-Models standards and expectations of staff members within Ginghamsburg Church including worship attendance at Ginghamsburg Church, cell group participation, lifestyle of tithing and generosity, and faithfully serving out of your call and giftedness.

Education & Experience:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related field preferred
Paid staff experience in megachurch setting
-Three or more years of experience in church of 2500 or more in attendance and 150-plus active cell groups or an equivalent competency in church leadership
-Track record of successful recruitment/equipping/training of adult unpaid servants (volunteers)

Skills/Experience Required to Succeed
-High energy self-starter who enjoys both interfacing with people and managing tasks/short-term projects
-Strong people skills including focus on “customer service” and effective teaming with colleagues
-Strong telephone and email communication skills
-Ability to serve as a classroom facilitator/instructor
-Paid or strong unpaid experience in serving within a Christian adult education ministry preferred
-Ability to manage online content

Responsibilities (NOTE: more detail available at
-Maintains Life Group directory online.
-Accumulates information from Life Group leaders to ensure that contact, location, and mission of the group are clearly understood by the Adult Discipleship team.
-Assists in training and deploying Access ACS for Life Group leaders, as well as being proficient in ACS as an administrator in coordination with the Data Team.
-Maintains Life Group online resource room
-Uses existing social media to create virtual space for groups to discuss opportunities, concerns and growth.
-Monitors and assists in posting to social media for Adult Discipleship.
-Assists in deploying training materials and church wide curriculum initiatives to all Life Group leaders.
-Assists in providing ongoing training and leadership support to all servants. Includes being present at and participating in all semester LEAD training events.
-Serve as the primary administrator for Life Groups
-Brainstorming with the Adult Discipleship team for future educational needs, teaching opportunities and in raising up servant leadership.
