Position Summary:

The Director of Children's Ministry is a full-time position that oversees all disciple-making activities that affect the spiritual health and growth of children. The Director of Children’s Ministry is asked to facilitate a successful environment for all children ages birth through 5th grade. This position partners with the Pastors, staff and laity to carry out the vision – to become a disciple-making church and mission – to make disciples by loving God, growing in Christ and reaching out to others.

Compensation - Pay and Benefits are competitive with local market and consistent with experience.

Ministry Passions:

Sharing the love of Jesus with children. Reaching out to un-churched children in the community. Building relationships with parents and engaging families in the ministry processes. Working as part of a team and apply biblical principles to building healthy relationships as part of our staff and with volunteers. Utilizing organizational skills to equip and affirm volunteer teams.

Key criteria for this full-time ministry position:

Be a faithful and growing disciple of Jesus Christ
Be in alignment with our vision/mission and core values
3-5 years or more experience in a children's ministry leadership role on a church staff
Demonstrated experience of engaging children and families in ministry
Demonstrated leadership capability in Children's ministry
Capable of providing references that indicate your competency and character.
Ability to manage events, budgets, curriculum and effectively deliver expected outcomes

QUALIFICATIONS:

Personal:

A growing yet mature follower of Christ called to children's ministry.
A passion for children and their families...especially as it relates to encouraging life-change in Jesus Christ.
A natural ability to relate well to both children and their parents.
Capable of seeing the big picture yet discussing the details.
A commitment to our vision, mission and core values.

Professional:

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field
3-5 years of relevant, full-time work experience, preferably with some of this experience as a paid member of a church staff
A team-oriented, visionary leader with direct people management experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Developed administrative and organizational skills.
A strategic thinker that can mobilize and direct large groups of people to accomplish a common goal.

Responsibilities:

Oversee all disciple-making activities for children from birth-5th grade including but not limited to Sunday Morning, Summer Programs, and other events.
Engage and equip families, partnering with parents to help them expand their spiritual influence within their families
Lead and direct the activities of various teams comprised of staff and volunteers.
Set the overall tone and direction for the ministry and deliver desired outcomes.
Recruit, equip, and shepherd the ministry's volunteers.
Develop and manage to a yearly ministry plan and budget.
Stay current with latest trends and methods in Children's Ministry, bringing the best ideas forward for evaluation.
Be an active participant in the church's overall direction and leadership
