Denominations: United Methodist
Church Size: 2501 to 3000
Job Type: Full-Time
Are you ready to become an integral member of our staff team as we continue to seek to reach more and more people for Christ? Do you have a proven track record of creating/growing a ministry? Grace Fellowship U.M.C. is actively seeking qualified candidates for the role of Campus Pastor for a new satellite campus. Grace Fellowship is a relatively young (16 years old) and growing congregation, and is currently averaging 2,700 in Sunday morning attendance. A small group church, Grace Fellowship desires to yoke with an experienced and energetic ministry leader who can help us open our first satellite campus in the Mayde Creek area of West Houston/Katy.
You will lead the development and launch of this satellite campus, and will serve as the day-to-day pastor, shepherd and leader of this campus. Working closely with the Executive Pastor, you will establish, implement and carry out a development plan that allows us to reach an area that holds 50,000 of our neighbors. We want both an “architect” and a “builder”; someone who can both dream and implement, and who will help us reach an unreached sector of our city/community.
We are looking for someone with a healthy walk and who daily practices the spiritual disciplines. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, is a team player, has both the desire and ability to pour into others, who has several years of direct experience leading or co-leading in ministry, a true passion for discipleship, strong people skills (you will be forming a significant team of volunteers), will be highly organized, and will be energized by the church’s vision. Experience in satellite campuses will be a plus.
Well-located within the heart of the Cinco Ranch community in Katy, Texas, Grace Fellowship UMC attracts a broad spectrum of seekers, new believers, and mature Christians. We long to reach an area located to the north of Cinco Ranch that is generally described as the ???Mayde Creek area”. This area – containing 60,000 people, is approximately 44% Hispanic, 33% Anglo, 14% African-American, and 6% Asian. Consequently, we need a campus pastor who is comfortable working with a diverse demographic, and who speaks Spanish fluently. You don’t have to be Hispanic, but you must be able to speak and interact seamlessly with a Hispanic community. Please, pursue this opportunity only if you are fluent in Spanish and English.
You don’t have to be UMC ordained: you do need to have reasonable church leadership experience, a love for people, a heart attuned to reaching the lost, a healthy spiritual walk, a “get it done” attitude, and a desire to be part of something bigger than ourselves.
We are a Bible-believing, contemporary worship congregation. Our vision is to be a house of prayer for all nations, and within this vision is the commitment to make disciples of Jesus Christ, and to reach the least-reached people groups of the world.
We are offering a competitive salary and benefits package, including paid medical (for the employee), paid vacation, long-term and short-term disability coverage, and a 401(k) plan.
Qualified candidates are encouraged to email their resume to Executive Pastor Mitch Peairson at email@example.com.
