Tabor United Church of Christ
Lebanon, Pennsylvania, United States

Church Size: 101 to 150
Job Type: Full-Time
Tabor Church is a historic congregation located in a culturally diverse neighborhood in downtown Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Tabor’s congregation has just recently celebrated its 250th Anniversary. Tabor currently has two worship services. A traditional UCC service is held at 10:30 am on Sunday mornings in the second floor sanctuary. This service is currently led by a supply minister who has been working with us for approximately one year. An alternative worship service, held at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings, is led by congregational volunteers. This service is held in the first floor “Sunday school space”. We believe this space to be a very attractive area for an alternative service. An engineering firm has completed a study with recommendations to upgrade the aesthetics of the space and also install an AV system to provide multimedia capabilities for the alternative service. Implementation of the recommendations in the study is currently on hold until a leader is found to help us with this process. Tabor’s membership has been declining over the past few years resulting in an older congregation with few remaining children and youth. The members that remain active are very open with each other. We feel that we have overcome the issues that have resulted in the declining membership. We feel the group is ready and willing to move forward and spread the word of Christ within Tabor and throughout the community.
Candidates are asked to contact Bryan Haag at (267)253-2923 with questions and submit resumes to Tabor Church, 124 South 10th St, Lebanon, Pa 17042 to the attention of Bryan Haag.
